Just watched Pulp Fiction.

Something about Tarantino's work just doesn't seem to resonate with me in the same way it seems to have captured everyone else. Even at that, it was still pretty good!

I watched Schindler's List today!

This was a fantastic movie. I love the way that it subtly approaches the changes that Schindler went through. It really made the story that much more powerful.

My dad got a Larry Norman documentary called Fallen Angel for his birthday, and he and I watched it last night. Surprisingly heavy stuff. We never knew that side of Larry.

I watched Ninja Assassin last night. That was hilarious. Best ending ever! I kept expecting one of the soldier to yell "Welcome to the 21st Century!!!" XD

Just watched Naked Gun 2 1/2. Love those movies. They're so funny! I love sight gags and screwball comedies.

I also watched Kamen Rider Decade X Double: Movie War 2010 a few nights ago. That was weird. I'm not too sure what to make of it. The Double part was awesome but the Decade part was...not very satisfying.

Just watched The Darjeeling Limited, as part three of my Wes Anderson Movie-Watching Adventure! I thought it was a good movie; I really like Wes Anderson's style!

I saw Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time in theaters last week, and it was awesome.

I was rather skeptical about this movie at first, because PoP:SoT is one of my all-time favorite video games ever, and naturally I expected them to smash it to bits and completely ruin it. But they really didn't. The story, while still about the Sands of Time and the Dagger and turning time back and fixing one's mistakes, was completely different from the game, and as such made a much better movie than an exact adaptation would have been. Then they were able to slip in references to the games and similarities that made me grin real wide.

I was also really worried about how Jake Gyllenhaal would work as the Prince, but he did a superb job, I thought. He put on a very good accent that fit with the others and sounded uncannily like Yuri Lowenthal, and he was able to put on precisely the right swaggering, sarcastic air that defines the Prince.

Plus, the action was exciting and really well done, and the romance didn't even get on my nerves like most movie romances do. A confusing plothole at the end was the only thing that detracted. I have to get this on DVD, and I have to get the soundtrack too!

I watched the french horror film Martyrs. One of the best shot horror films i have ever seen. Also the most shocking film i have ever seen. Even the most hardcore horror fan would have a hard time making it through it. Good film just not for everyone or anyone under the age of 18.

A Nightmare on Elm St, all of the pre-remake movies.

I went in expecting to be scared, and came out with a ton of laughs at the expense of the movies. I'm not certain how this series maintains a fanbase. No offense meant to the fans.

If your talking sequals they are pretty bad. The first one and the 3rd and the last are the only good ones.

I watched The Evil Dead last night. That was great. Very scary. I also watched Something Wicked This Way Comes which was also very creepy and very good.

I have been meaning to watch that its on my netflix instant view.

I watched the foreign horror film Shiver last night it was pretty good, a little slow during parts thought and i was a little disappointed with the creature.

Great movies very funny! I liked the setup for Army of Darkness at the end of Evil Dead 2.

Dr. Who (reboot) season 1

That was so freaking awesome I can't wait for the rest of my family to catch up so I can start season two. As far as an introduction to Dr. Who goes, I couldn't have asked for anything better (except, maybe a better first episode).

Tonight I watched District 9, Mystery Science Theater 3000: Teenagers From Outer Space, and May.

Becoming too attached to a particular Doctor is a rather common malady. But not to worry, David Tennant does an excellent job. I can really relate to his portrayal of the Doctor, where he finds himself in that awkward situation where he knows stuff, but people around him can't figure out what's going on with him, so he doesn't really have a clear idea of how to relate. As for me, having scored inexpensive copies of the first four seasons of the new Doctor Who, I've been playing episodes of season one in the lunch breaks between Film Production I and Post-Production I.

Just got back from watching the Karate Kid- and it really isn't half bad! It would have been a better experience if two obnoxious teenagers hadn't thrown their sandals at the screen, or an obnoixious lady wouldn't stop screaming at them until after they had been escorted from the theater, but even so....

Well okay, it's just I watched the original Karate Kid when I was little, and this new version literally takes the original and urinates all over it. I can't forgive that. Also the title is stupid KARATE IS JAPANESE NOT CHINESE. CALL IT THE WUSHU KID OR THE KUNG FU KID OR WHATEVER BUT IT ISN'T FRIGGIN' KARATE ARGH.

Also I refuse to support Jackie Chan's movies because of his political opinions (he thinks the Chinese people should be government slaves).

^ ... Okay, so you do have a point with the whole Karate vs. Kung Fu thing. Bad decision on the case of the people who titled it- they probably think that Americans are too ignorant to know the difference (and most of the people who see it probably are, since the majority are going to be 15 and under).

It's not the Karate Kid. But it isn't a bad film in its own right.

Underworld

I liked the atmosphere and aesthetics. The story wasn't that bad, either (certainly not as bad as I had been told), it just wasn't Romeo and Juliet (which is probably a good thing).

Two qualms. First, the romance felt quite forced and just kind of jumped up out of nowhere. Honestly, it wasn't even necessary, except to shoehorn plot ideas together. Second, Michael didn't really do a whole lot. I mean, he was the super hybrid killer dude, and he got whooped by a centuries old vampire that had just woken from hibernation. In the end, Selene just had to save him again. After all of the hype surrounding his superpowers, it would have been nice to see him win at least a single fight.

Aside from those two complaints, though, it was a pretty solid action movie with a likable Gothic flair. Also, the vampires burned in sunlight, which is always a good sign. Oh, and for once, people dual wielding machine guns are actually as inaccurate as they should be with such weapons.


The Mothman Prophecies

A somewhat amusing film. Well shot and reasonably acted, but carried almost no malice. Although the fact that it was based upon actual (perceived) paranormal sightings and events did add interest.
