My avatar is, at heart, a critique on the average man in this great nation, it is a comment on those who would uphold the status quo. It is a bold statement, meant to both belittle and chastise the backwards-thinkers, in the hopes of pushing things forward. The helmet symbolizes their desire to protect their tiny brains from frightening thoughts, from anything that might educate them or enlighten them. The trident symbolizes that while they appear to be ready to fight, it is at heart a farce, a foolish desperate attempt to seem threatening. The crossed-eyes symbolize their way of looking at things, a true show that these people refuse to look at the world rightly, for what it is, rather skewing things to fit their perception. The "DERP" is there to represent the sounds that the intelligent hear whenever these people open their mouths, a sad attempt at communication that sounds more like a laughable animal than human speech.

Um, that, or it's a funny picture of Garfield wearing a bowl and holding a fork.

It's one or the other.
