I will tell you why.
One, "Karate Kid." Karate is Japanese. This movie is about a kid who moves to China. KARATE IS JAPANESE. NOT CHINESE. They can't even get the title right.
Two. Jackie Chan is in it. "Oh but Jackie Chan is cool!" you say. No, no he isn't. Any person who thinks that Chinese people should be slaves to the government and that freedom is dangerous, is not a cool person. Thus, any movie starring Jackie Chan is immediately crap.
Three. Remember how Mr. Miyagi told Daniel that karate wasn't to fight? That you learn karate so that you may never use it? How fighting wasn't cool? Oh right, this remake says "Hey learn karate so you can beat the crap out of people!" In other words, it is in direct opposition to the spirit of the first movie. That makes it terrible.
But the fourth, the fourth is the worst. The biggest insult of all. In the original movie, there's a scene where Mr. Miyagi catches a fly with chopsticks. Everyone remember that scene? It was awesome! Then Daniel says, "Wouldn't a flyswatter be quicker?" Mr. Miyagi responds, "Man who catch fly with chopsticks accomplish anything."
So guess what Jackie Chan's character does in this movie? He hits a fly...with a flyswatter. That is the last straw. The director of this movie PURPOSELY and WILLFULLY took the original movie and laughed as he defecated on it.
That is why this is the worst movie ever.

You can enjoy someone's work or acknowledge that someone is talented even if their views are strange or you don't agree with them. Case in point: Tom Cruise's scientology, Richard Wagner's anti-semitism, etc.
