For some reason that trailer just fails to impress me.

But don't take my word for it; my brother, who loves action movies even more than me, was not impressed either.

I've always thought that someone should remake this movie. The trailer looks awesome, but I have my doubts about the tagline: Titans Will Clash. That's your tagline? Come on, think a little harder people. My only beef is that with today's capabilities, the original will look even cheaper now. And the original wasn't all that bad actually. It was just slightly hampered by that period's approach to stop-motion.

Were you a fan of the original?

Harryhausen movies are horrendously dated by today's standards, but they retain a certain charm.

A remake on Clash of the Titans? How shameful. Although the graphics were not up to par, the original was good for its time. I like the original.....

Meh. Looks pretty ordinary. Although I love the idea of fighting giant scorpions and the lead actress was nice on the eyes.

I can't wait for this ^_^ If I wasn't such a big Greek myth nut, it probably wouldn't impress me much. I loved the old movie and if any movie needed a remake, THAT was it (sorry, as much as I like it, the effects suck).

This was like a cut trailer or something though. The one I saw the other day was a lot longer and instead of "Titans Will Clash", it said "[Dang] The Gods". The other one showed Pegasus flying, the Kracken, a full quick shot of Medusa and a little bit of dialog.

EDIT: Found the longer trailer.... http://www.latinoreview.com/news/clash-of-the-titans-second-trailer-8773 Not as good quality as the one I saw the other day but I guess that one got taken down.

While the original holds a special part of my heart, I got a bit pumped at the trailer. Liam Neeson! Saying "Unleash THE KRAKEN!" And the Kraken had actual tentacles!

But the Medusa scene seemed almost copied shot-for-shot. Down to the lighting and everything.

Leaving aside the question, once again, of how the heck a critter from Scandinavian folklore got itself a part in a movie based upon Greek mythology, I'm at least pleased to hear that it has tentacles on this go-round. The giant four-armed Creature from the Black Lagoon was one of the weirdest bits of bad production in the entire original Clash.

I wasn't a fan of the original, personally, and think the remake looks worse, but different? I would never have guessed the remake was Clash of the Titans except for it telling you what the commercial was.

How does the remake look worse?!

I mean, I love the original but it is no great piece of film by any means. There are some good actors in it (Maggie Smith and such) but overall, the acting is pretty terrible. The special effects are horribly dated... even back then they were dated. I honestly can't see any possible way from the little we've seen that this could look worse than the old one unless you just absolutely nostalgic for the old one.

"The old one had HEART! This is just a cheap money-grab from Hollywood!"

I'm not saying I believe that. Just that it is the only response I could think of that would make sense, since that's the only way the remake could look worse. Especially since if Hollywood wanted a cheap money-grab there's a lot better out there than Clash of the Titans, seriously.

Anyway I'm absolutely looking forward to this movie. The worst that can happen is that it'll be on the same level as the original one. If nothing else it'll be entertaining.
