I wanna...

Postby Little T-chan » Sun Apr 18, 2004 10:42 pm

I wanna be like Tohru Honda!!!!!!! >.<!!! <3 <3 <3!!! Why? Because she is sooooooo nice and generous and nice!!! And I wish that I could do housework as good as her.... :red: I am so slow...last time I tried, washing the dishes took me two hours...literally!!! So sad. And I'm a female, too. My future husband will be so disappointed in me... :( I will try to make him some leeks like Tohru-san did, but they will come out so horribly...because I didn't put enough....of some ingredient in it....ANYWAYS.... She is a great listener and she makes everyone in the Sohma family trust her so easily!!! I mean, I'm like that at school, but at church, I'm afraid to be myself because the kids there are so different than me...Blah!! I don't even know what I'm talking about now...!!

Not all guys are interested in how quick you do the dishes. If he's worth anything at all, he'll get a house or an apartment with a proper dishwasher in it.

I wouldn't be too worried about trying to be too much like Tohru. If your natural personality is the one you let us see here, you hae nothing to worry about in the niceness factor. ^_^ As for being yourself at chruch, don't be freaked. I used to be, and I still am a little, but I came to terms with who I am as a person and now I'm me everywhere and it freaks people out some of the time.

And hon, the only thing I can cook is instant ramen. Woah.

The choice has been made. There's no looking back. I won't let up, back up, give up, or shut up. My focus clear. My path is straight. My God, reliable. I'm a disciple of Christ.

Gods plan is like the sun. its too big and bright to look at directly, and sometimes the rain clouds cover it, but sometimes the plan dapples through the clouds and we can see beautiful glimpses of what he has in store for us.

People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.

Hey now, none of this "guys don't cook" thing. At one of the restaurants that I used to work at, I used to know this Irish fellow who was adamant that "women don't belong in the kitchen" because he felt they couldn't keep up with the job. ;) Anyways, I'm a pretty decent cook myself and certainly know my way around a kitchen.

But seriously T-chan, I don't know any guys who expect the housewife thing. The couples I know generally share chores like cooking and washing up.
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

Lol. I don't mind doing dishes, but I'm a terrible cook and I can't do laundry

And don't worry, T-chan, we love you! But I seriously know how you feel. I get those flashes of “I wish I were like Tohruâ€

Mechanical dishwashers are quite prone to failure. Unless you are in a profession in which you fingers are daily put on the line (military, computer tech, theif in an Arab nation), they will never fail you in cleaning dishes!

Besides, a good man would do the dishes for his wife.

Amen! Nah, I don't mind "domestic chores" like doing the dishes, but I think it'd be really nice to have a husband who would treat his wife and clean every once in a while. Shows he loves her and treasures her--not just sees her as the maid.

Oh and I love to cook ^^ (and I think I'm half-decent at it to boot....nearly went to culinary school actually )

Thank you everyone!! If you ask me, YOU guys are the ones who are so nice!!! ;)

:wow!: Are you serious?! Men wash dishes?! Well, I guess my family's traditions are different from everyone else's. My family always teases me about how I'll never get myself a good husband thanks to my horrible housework skills. I guess the part of Tohru that I like best is that she went through so many troubles yet she is still cheerful all of the time and is still able to go through her life handling herself.

I live by myself and don't have a dishwasher. If I didn't wash dishes it would be a bit scary, or else I'd be buying a lot of paper plates. Yes, I do chores too.

But I don't cook very well...

I know this doesn't help any, but... my best friend Sam... IS exactly like Tohru. She can do pretty much anything... and the way she whips through her chores...
Once she came over to my house and helped me clean my room, it never looked better. Tohru is her "anime double"... she even looks like her.
My anime double, or anime twin or whatever you want to call it, is Miyazawa Yukino. funny, I'm gonna start a thread about this...
