Then we'll probably have at least 3 non-canon adventures with Sasuke's group and at least 1 more arc with Naruto that has nothing to do with anything, but will still attempt to tie itself to the main plot really awkwardly... Then the REALLY good stuff after another year's worth of Filler.
Maokun (post: 1322488) wrote:Wait, is this confirmed?? I was totally sure that after all these long fillers we'd be finally hitting the spot were the manga is ahead enough that we could follow it for a long stretch and maybe only have a few filler by the time they were approaching the end. Maybe it is indeed high time to move to the manga... I've already read it all to the first series's plot.

Bobtheduck (post: 1322558) wrote:No, it's not confirmed. It's cynicism. If they get all the way to pain without any filler, I'll be surprised, but happy for sure.
Don't knock Bacchikoi, though! I LOVE Bacchikoi! Haha! And I also loved Heroes comeback and Closer. My favorite is definitely Haruka Kanata, but those ones are pretty awesome. I also liked the first Shippuden Ending, just for imagery in it if not necessarily for the song.
Plus... I'm gonna say that
Asuna's funeral
in the anime is probably in my top 10 anime moments of all time...
Not something I thought I'd say about a Shonen Jump anime
What makes it seem worse is that the filler takes place between big moments, unlike in the original Naruto where half the show may have been filler, but it all took place while waiting for part 2... Nothing compares to the amount of filler it got while we were waiting for Shippuden.

What? Someone actually liked Bacchikkoi? 0_o this world surely is wide and strange.
Yep that was quite ok, note that I did say there were some good emotive moments...but it's a shone, where are my awesome fights!?? In the first series we usually got one awesome fight right after the other. Now the battles are scarce and repetitive. It's quite sad that the most memorable fight for me in the series was one of the first ones, almost 100 episodes ago.
I take you are not familiar with One Piece that one makes you cry at the very least once per arc.
We fully agree here.
I'm familiar with one piece... I won't bother with the anime, since the manga itself is just way to galznerking long and I read the first few chapters, and I couldn't get into it. I've gotten an idea for how it works from a friend who reads it every week. They get to an island. They spend about a year there, beating up the big bad of that island. They go onto the next island... They've still got a lot of islands to go.
wildpurplechild (post: 1323058) wrote:Perhaps writers like to make fillers? They are basically uncanon fanfics. Still, the manga is ahead enough that they can make canon episodes now.
Bobtheduck (post: 1323278) wrote:They can, but it's profitable for them to make fillers... It stretches the show out so it keeps making them money, they're cheaper to make since people expect the big plot moments to be better animated, and it expands on the characters that don't get much development in the manga (Hinata, for instance, or Ino)
I still say they're not necessary, but I haven't hated all of them.
