So this is what, the fifth thread on this movie? Who cares, it's out now! Yaay!

The movie was AWESOME. One of Pixar's best, and that's saying a lot. There were a lot more laugh-out-loud moments than I figured there'd be, and it switched between humor and drama seamlessly. Plus, the movie just looked amazing.

Knowing me, I'll probably see it again. XD Anybody else rush out for tickets?

I want to see this! If I go see it, it'll be the first Pixar film I've seen on the big screen. The critics seem to really like it, but then again, they like everything Pixar puts out so I guess that doesn't say much. XD

Read a Review for it online...and about cried because it looked THAT good..I WANT TO SEE IT SO BADLY... D8

The storyline sounds so sweet and touching and yet there's the funny parts that I've heard of too...

gotta see this next week :< work is killing my free time.

i looved it. Pixar always impresses me. always. and the short animation in the beginning was super cute too <3

I'm going to see it tomorrow! I would have gone to see it today, but I didn't get the chance. I can't WAIT to see it though! My brother saw it tonight and told me it was amazing, and I trust his judgement. XD I'm stoked!

I just hope this movie doesn't have some heavy-handed message about air pollution or something... The "messages" of Finding Nemo (all drains lead to the sea, huh? Nevermind that they were wrong, but kids thinking they'll save their fish by flushing them was kind of funny... Not so much heavy-handed as subversive in this case) and especially Wall-e (straightforward, no subversion at all) really turned me off. I otherwise love Pixar. Toy Story, Monster's Inc, the Incredibles, and Cars. All great movies, even if Cars was "too normal" in its story (since it basically just replaced people with cars, and the story wasn't all that complex...)

If this ends up being another environmental message, I don't think I'll be interested in it.

I think it's good for movies to have a message and I don't think WALL-E and Finding Nemo were too preachy at all. Most Christian movies are much worse in that regard. I'm looking forward to UP.

Oh snap I didn't know UP was already out! This movie takes a childhood fantasy of tieing a lot of balloons onto something to go... well up. Exploration, a person breaking out of their normal behavior who'd always been craving adventure, I can't wait to see this movie. If it twasn't my mother's birthday today I would TOTALLY go... or I'll just go later tonight =)

If Chibi gave it a good review I know its gonna be great =) (no pun intended)

I hate heavy handed movies but I didn't think Finding Nemo or WALL-E were preachy at all. Happy Feet on the other hand.... not Pixar but still... the in your face preachiness really turned me off. Agree about the Christian movies too...

Agree'd....I read an interview a christian magazine had with the director of Wall-E and he said that the thing about a trashed planet had nothing to do with environmentalism, but was rather a result of us as humans giving into materialism]http://www.worldmag.com/articles/14127[/url]

And about the whole "all drains lead to the ocean" thing in Finding Nemo, until people have made mention of it's meaning I honestly thought nothing of it....

But yeah, Up looks amazing...

Currently fighting it out in my head whether UP of Wall-E is the best animated movie I've ever seen. That's saying a lot considering I saw Wall-E 3 times in theaters.

Ok I feel way better about almost crying now. I couldn't tell if I was just tired tonight or if this movie actually had points in it worth crying over, two-three times I held back the urge to shed a tear thinking "What the heck? This is a kiddie movie with some adult themes, why would I cry?" Amazing Grace can get me to cry as well as the Passion, but a Pixar flick? I've been punked =) Glad to know others did ^^ <3

daaaahhhh

I am so hating the fact that I am probably working every night until the 10th... and that the closest theater is almost 25 miles away, and by the time I went and saw this movie during the earliest showing, i'd be late for work....

*sigh* why did my co-workers have to go to Jamaica for 10 days? Why can't my employers hire more people? So I can go see this movie? XDDDDD

Went to see this today.

What. A. Fantastic. Film.

I cried like five times (once within the first ten minutes). And laughed whenever I wasn't crying. Also I NEVER cry in movies. XD This might be Pixar's best movie yet. I'm unsure as I say that since I also adored Wall-E, but man. What an emotional roller coaster! XD

Went to see it today with my family, and I definitely think it was pixar's best film. The animation was amazing, though the fact that it was the first 3D film I've seen probably helped. It was also very funny, and had a great plot.

I liked it better than Wall-E. It was dang hilarious. Just be sure to come in with your suspension of disbelief in overdrive.

I really enjoyed the film. It gave me a lot to think about in regards to the pact I'm about to enter with Jen this July. Not that I haven't been thinking about weddings a lot anyway what with it a month away now.

What with the talking cars and toys and alternate dimensions filled with monsters that derrive power from screams this movie for what-ever reason required the suspension of disbelief for me. Something about it made the fact that I had to suspend it all the more obvious than previous films.

Dug was hilarious. :lol:

After having had time to process the movie more, I can't decide if I like this or Wall-E more. Both are such amazing films that touched me more deeply than most other films I've seen. Up might have the edge, as it approaches a lot of adult themes that are very rarely seen in animation. In an odd way, I really felt like Carl and I had a few things in common.

Sidenote: I fell in love with Ellie, even though I knew what was going to happen. Very powerful storytelling was found in the short opening sequence that was Carl's life.
