Sword of the Stranger

So has anyone gone to see Sword of the Stranger? Do you like it or know about it? It seems to be going over really well on a lot of anime sites as far as reviews are concerned. It looks a little generic to me but I need to look into it a little more.

I don't think there was a lot of people that went and saw that movie on the big screen.

They just had it for one night only at the movie theaters and that was Feb 5.

The dvd doesn't come out until June 16 of this year.

Sword of the Stranger only appeared in theaters to qualify for the Oscars, not that it would have stood a chance because the director's name didn't begin with "Hayao " and end in "Miyazaki." Ticket sales came second.

Regardless, I'd like to see it sometime. A friend of mine recommended it to me on its high production values (animation-wise). Story's sort of simple I understand, but you don't need a complicated plot when two dudes with swords want to kill each other.

Well I have done a bit of reading about this movie, it does sound good and I'm going to try to find it on dvd when it comes out.
