UPDATE

been busy lately so I wasn't able to look up everybody choices yet. I've added a few though om them plus one I found by accident. It's titled "Okazaki's Best Fight - Clannad After Story". I've never seen the show so I have no real idea what is going on in the scene. What made me add it to the list was it's basically the only scene in anime that made me cover my mouth in shock (at 3:49 into the video). and just was follows that adds on and on to it. But I'd suggest watching the whole thing since skipping to the time I gave would only take away from it.

Honestly, that's only one of MANY scenes from After Story that belong here. Heck, I'd go as far as to say the entirety OF After Story fits this thread.
Embraced by a gentle breeze, my heart breaks as I think of you.

Like Yuko mentioned earlier, one of the final scenes in Haibane Renmei, definitely. Although, I must say my favorite part is when
Reki finally breaks down and asks for help, there's total silence for a split second, and then everything crashes to a conclusion when Rakka pushes her out of the way of the oncoming train. SUCH a great scene. XD
Other scenes that come to mind are episode 11 of AirTV, Rurouni Kenshin when
Kenshin leaves for Kyoto
, the entire last episode of Full Moon wo Sagashite, along with episode 42, aaannndd...that's all I can seem to remember at the moment. XD

And it's not even finished yet. If you don't know what's going to happen yet, let's just say that you will be convinced that the entirety of After Story does belong in this thread.

I've played the VN, but the impact of the anime is way higher -- in my opinion. In any case, it's absolutely incredible drama.

I couldn't figure out how to do spoilers tags (:bang:) but I majorly second the one Radical Dreamer said about Haibane Renmie. Awesome scene and one of my favorite animes.

YES! When I first saw this thread I thought, "Most of Kino's Journey". That entire series is incredibly thought provoking.

Finally, there's the scene where we see Nausicaa's garden in Nausicaa. It gives a real insight into how much she cares about her people.

All of Naruto that
have to do with Sasuke leaving and the huge fight between Naruto and Sasuke. Also when Shippuden started after two years of fillers.
The last few episodes of Mahou Sensei Negima.

The last few episodes of Sailor Stars.

Those are all I can think of for now.

I know which one you are talking about but that reminds me of something I've been trying to figure out. In Kanon 2006 does this happen?
The really short girl gets hit by a car.
I ask this because I swear I've seen a animated gif of this "incident". I've been trying to find it because I have a gif of a real life "incident" that swear is the exact same thing.

Wow... no one has mentioned anything about Gurren Lagann. So many dramatic scenes. But the most misty eyed one was in the very last few epsisodes.

I saw that movie way back and that was an awesome scene.

The incident happens, but with a different character.

It's been speculated that the similarity between the two accidents is because the real life incident was used as a reference.

The end of Basilisk... hands down!
When I say I sobbed... it's an understatement. Such a beautiful and powerful story.
This is a clip... unfortunately all I could find was an English dub (*siiiiigh*) BUT as far as dubs go, it's actually pretty darn good. Don't watch unless you want a major, MAJOR spoiler! But... it's quality to be sure! Basilisk ending

That one time when Goku almost died.

I'm not sure if this would be considered "dramatic," per se, but in pokemon when Ash gave up Pikachu, and then when he was turned to stone.

haha Pokemon! No joke... I was way upset over Pikachu!!! Major nostalgia.
Another one of the most dramatic scenes in my humble opinion is at the end of Ayashi no Ceres ...
When Aya is stabbed... Aki dies... and Touya says he will give up his immortality.
