I wouldn't name a kid Kanon unless you're ready for lots of jokes about cannons and cameras and printers.

Also...Matic? I...I'm not even gonna touch that one. XD

I'll be honest here. I'm really fond of the name Aubrey or Audrey or some variant for a girl. I also think Terry or Sascha would be nice.

I didn't know this at the time, but Audrey means "Noble strength," so that works pretty well.

Strangely not sure what I'd name my son.

I had actually thought of that (Francisco), but it's a strong Spanish/Portuguese name, so I don't know fitting that'd be for him. I had also briefly considered Alexander.

I wouldn't name him after myself though. I think that carries too much of the idea of living in your father's shadow. He should be his own man, not "Junior" or "II."

EDIT: Shiroi I'm warning you.

Hmm..I like Skye.

Personally, I would love to name a child an anime name!! (how Otaku am I?!!)
I love the name Sakura. But that kid would be teased so much, so maybe I'll name a pet Sakura, or something.

This is weird, but I like the name Juno...it's SPUNKY. :D

I've already got my boys' name figured out...but I'd like my girl to have a Japanese-based name....
I haven't gotten my girl's name yet, but I like the names Sorana, Katherine, Amelia, and Arisu....

If I have another son he will be called Wolfgang Amadeus.

And for my daughter..........Candy. 'Cause everyone loves candy.

And I'm 17, my not get married till out of collage(22) and then and only then will I hope God gives me children to give these great names(at least the boys) to.

Until you come up with sensible names for your kids, please don't procreate. XP

Slade: Why would you name your kid after the Teen Titans villain? Okay, I'll give you a pass if you name the kid Deathstroke the Terminator (last name). Only on that condition, though.

Wolfgang Amadeus: No. Just . . . no.

Candy: I'm not sure if it's CAA-friendly to explain why I think this is a bad idea.

Seriously, naming kids is NOT like naming fictional characters. Especially not self-insert characters. Although I hope some parents have a kid who turns out to be a prodigy of some sort, and her name is Mary Sue. That would be utterly hilarious.

And Fish, I'm 100% with you about not naming kids after yourself. I'm a "IV," (yeah, a fourth - no fooling) and I think it sucks.

<_< um, right, who cares? I don't.

I know someone named Slade. One kick butt person I must say and an even better name. And what wrong with Wolfgang? It's Mozart's first name. Candy I'm not so sure about, I can't name a girl in the slightest so that might not be a good name after all. And have you ever named a hundred fictional characters. Chosing a child's name is child's play compared to that.

P.S.This aren't the final, absolute names. Would it ever be for a seventeen old?

I had two classmates and one cousin with nicknames of "Candy". The classmates were both 'Candace'. My cousin is Ruth Ann, and I have no idea how she ended up as 'Candy'. Just for the record, they all seemed to turn out okay.

Oh my, you'r a IV? WHOA.

CANDY?!!?

*headdesk*

OH! PLEASE DO NOT NAME YOUR KID AFTER YOURSELF/SPOUSE!!!
There's nothing worse to me then having "II" or "Junior" attached permenatley to your name. The only way that naming a kid after yourself is okay is if it's the middle name.

I like unusual names. But like someone said, it's not like your naming a fictional character. So it can be unusual, but with limits. I mean, would you want you kid to be ridiculed for the rest of it's life? No.

I've got quite a list of good names I could choose from for my kid, but I'd have to say one of my favorites would be Akira (or is it Achira?). I like it because it's both Scottish (like my mom's side) and Japanese and it means "anchor". Plus, it works for both genders. I can't lose! Kinda like the name Kuma (Japanese name meaning "bear").
