Ouch...

What do you think of this? I think that the teacher should be fired and put in jail. I also think that this is absolutely terrible and very very painful.

I think this would go in the General section of the forums.

But if anybody did that to my kid, they wouldn't have hands anymore.

In all seriousness though, that's pretty sick. I hope they fire and prosecute the teacher.

Actually before I clicked on the link I thought it was like a situation only seen in shounen anime and therefore awesome and the teacher would look like a badaths.

Clicking the link, I'm not terribly surprised.

As do many, many Asian and Japanese teachers.

The difference is that Japanese teachers get away with it easier and with less punishment.

Why is this all about the teacher? Clearly the kid should have done his homework.

Well, that student won't be cheeky towards his teacher again.

On a serious note, what was this teacher smoking to think that it would be a good idea to lift a child into the air by his cheeks? I hope his family gets a hefty award in court, and that the boy recovers well.

Another reason I'm glad I was homeschooled... no teacher abuse there! That's so wrong. Poor kid!

I think it's interesting how this points out the differences in cultural expectations and acceptable behavior. American teaches can't even hug their students for fear of being sued, let alone touch them with intent to harm.
