the World Masterpiece Theatre series. These are anime based on classic novels and stories. The US really dropped the ball on this one. Most of the stories are from novels written in English, so localizing and marketing them would not present much of a problem at all. However, at this point I doubt anyone will even bother to try, which is a shame.
