XDDD did anyone else watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade on NBC? Particularly the segment with the Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends float?
If so...did you see the MASSIVE Rick Roll they did? XD

They brought out the characters and they were singing a song, and then they suddenly stopped and Rick came out and started singing that song XDD it was hilarious

anyone else see it?

You beat me to it, Kitchan! I was about to make a thread about this! Great minds, my sista!

Anyway, I just saw a YouTube video about it, and it was pretty cool...but in my opinion, it effectively put a nail in the Rickroll coffin. I mean, I always thought of Rickrolling as being an inside joke for people of the web--now that it's been brought public like this, it's like...umm...cool...but...not funny. Forgive if it's confusing...

XD I really never understood the whole concept behind rickrolling. But still... this is just more proof of the influence the internet has on our everyday lives.

Yeah, this one is good, too. XD

I confused the heck out of my mom by bursting into laughter as soon as Rick walked out. I knew exactly what was going on, and it was just plain awesome, despite the fact that the joke is starting to wear out now. The Thanksgiving Day Parade was the last place I expected something like this to happen, so...er, I guess they accomplished their goal. It was a surprise.

Something like this
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

They even warned us a surprise was coming on NBC during their number, but I would never have guessed anyone would Rick Roll the Macy's parade.

The joke's been kind of stale for a while now (at least to me) but I had a good laugh - no doubt the largest Rick Roll in history. And that song is a whole lot better than the one they started singing.

Honestly, I think the funniest thing about this is the fact that we internet people are like "lol this is soooo yesterday" but 90% of the people watching the parade probably had no freaking clue what was going on.

My school band Rick rolled us a couple of ball games ago. Let's just say that this is definitely a phenomenon now. As for the Macy's Parade, I was somewhere else when the song started, but my brother calls me in and who do I see but Rick Astley. Who started this? I mean, isn't the joke on him? Like, my mom is from the eighties and she never heard of the guy.
"I've learned when you throw mud at others, not only do you get your hands dirty, but you also lose a lot of ground." Ravi Zacharias
"Pride grows in the human heart like lard on a pig." Aleksander Solzhenitzen (so call me on it)

The song was a pretty big hit.

I'd like to think that he's more of a good sport than clueless or bitter.

Rick Astley is very familiar with the phenomenon of Rick Rolling, so he's in good spirits about it.

He is worried that his daughter thinks it's embarrassing though.
