So, it's October...

Talk about anything in here.

My hair's not quite long enough to do Princess Leia again (did that 2 years ago), so I'm going as a 20s/30s lady gangster. I have about everything for it except for an old fashioned suit. My tommy gun is coming in the mail, and I'm going to nab a violin case from a friend for the day too. *evil laugh*

My friend makes costumes, and he made a Cheshire cat costume for another friend...

He was the Mad Hatter, another friend was the mouse, and his GF was Alice... Though, there was something unsettling about the Mad Hatter x Alice pairing...

What was the costume like your friend made for another friend?

Here's the group pic. The one who made all the costumes is on the far right. And, no, I'm not in any of the costumes, though I know all the people (I guess the other character was "March Hare" not the mouse, like I'd thought)

If you don't mind my asking, why are you dressing up, then?

I'm probably gonna be at work. I don't really have the money or the occasion to dress up this year. Adulthood sucks... :sniffle:

Because I'm going to a party the church throws every year on Halloween "The Fall Fest" and my friend was going to dress up like Alice. And the fact I like dressing up in wacky outfits for random reasons ^^

I'll be dressing up as a Mennonite.

<-- *points below avatar*

In all seriousness, I would love to come up with a costume, but I don't have the time or the money, and I'm too much of a perfectionist to just do something quick. So I'll probably spend Halloween working on my Kenshin cosplay or something. :P

I might actually do that. I gotta change into my work uniform in the locker room anyway so I might as well.

That'd be more suited to The Butcher. Or Eddie Dombrowski if it's a full-on meat locker with huge slabs hanging from hooks and things.

well I don't dress up for halloween, but really for the family "harvest party"...

basically, you would make a costume out of whatever you can find in the house. It's a cool idea, it really challenges your creativity.

Anyways, I'm letting my hair grow out so I could dress as Shaggy. :)

Gah...

I'm so stuck on my costume ideas.

First I was gonna be Tank Girl.
Then I was gonna be Ida Lupino.
Then I was going to be a Hobo.
Now, I think I'm going to be a nudist (you know, just wear black strips of cardboard over the bad areas)
But then I'm like "hey, I could just be eraserhead... or bettie page... or james st. james... GAH."
Imma stuck =[

EDIT: Any ideas?

I don't celebrate Halloween, but I use to when I was a kid. The last time I wore a costume was when I was 13 or 14 years old at school as a bunny. I wore a long red shirt, sewed a rabbit tail my mom bought on it the best I could and wore rabbit ears. I will go to the harvest festival at my church.

I was drafted as a chaperone for an early Halloween party and had to come up with a costume in two hours. I managed to construct an eerily convincing Rick Astley from my regular wardrobe, three gallons of hair gel, and pure moxie.

Pictures pending.

I'm going as Mrs. Lovett. It's going to be awesome.

I also dressed up as Manny Calavera when I went to a haunted house the other day. Thrift store suit, paper mask...didn't turn out badly at all. Better mobility than the Lovett dress, too.
