Well...... I know this should be a fun game to play, but it wouldn't be the Resident Evil we grew up with scaring our pants off. I like the darker creepier feel, better. (In a Resident Evil game) Actually, when my friend told me there wasn't going to be any zombies in 4, just mildly retarded villagers... I laughed at him....... I then went home checked it out online… found the truth and cried....

Anyways, I'm still gonna' give the game the benefit of the doubt. Still, I liked Zero... and won't mind seeing something different, I guess. Well, the graphics are nice!

I don't think so, but you never really know. It's a system exclusive title, it depends on how well it sells.

I think the general theory is... let's experiment with the Gamecube and give the people what they want on the other systems. Example: Capcom made Viewtiful Joe for the 'cube. I'm open to creative ideas in the gaming world, that's why I like Nintendo.

Resident Evil without T-Virus and Zombies ISNT Resident Evil... It's some RE clone trying to be RE without having anything to do with RE...

That's rather annoying. There was a time not too long ago when every proper sequel to the RE franchise was a PS1/2 exclusive, but now my beloved Capcom has jumped ship to Nintendo. Why, I don't know. Maybe they hate me.

Oh well...as long as there aren't any exclusing SF (excluding the port of Capcom vs. SNK 2), Power Stone, or Mega Man games released for the Game Cube, I'll be alright until Capcom comes to its senses.

Yeah, I did find it odd and… when Konami remade Metal Gear Solid for the 'cube. Well, while, all this is gonna’ on… most of the Japanese Companies are ignoring the X-box, Temco (Ninja Gaiden and DOA) seems to be the only ones with faith in them. Because oddly the Producer of RE4 Hiroyuki Kobayashi said to Nintendo "These visual are only possible of the Gamecube. Our people cannot do anything like this on the other platforms" Now, the Gamecube does have more horsepower than the PS2, but both are dwarfed by the X-box. Clearly shows the Japanese companies dislike the X-box.

Kinda’ OT: Speaking of our good buddies at Capcom, I’ve been really disappointed by their latest Megaman games. They’re not challenging anymore, just frustrating… yet, I’m really looking forward to that Megaman Anniversary collection. The old classics… together! Sweet stuff! :thumb:

I'm pretty stoked about it, another reason to touch my Gamecube this year other than that awesome MGS remake. The game looks wonderful, I still don't know what's going on about this whole zombies-not-being-real zombies concept floating around....is this starting to become 28 Days Later or what ?

Resident Evil= cool, unless we're talking about that first person shooter on the ps1. sigh that stunk. Anyway its good too see the franchise evolveing, though i would still like to have zombies around at least in some places ya know. Still strange villagers and burlap sacks, we'll have to make due.

I read out RE4 in Nintendo Power. I think I'll actually play this one, since they finally got rid of the cinematic views that mess up your perspective and you end up running back into the zombie you were running from...

Zilch: GAH! Zombie!(runs away by pressing up)
Zilch: GAH! Camera angle change!(pressing up now sends him into the warm embrace of a virus infected former persona)

How does a confusing control scheme KEEP players from running into zombies?

Jedisonic: oh no, that car coming straight for me down the road has a zombie leaning out the window! TURN RIGHT! *crashes into zombie car to the left*

Unless of course I was in europe, then swap right/left

I kinda like games where it works like that if you are holding the control stick when the camera changes, and to reset the controls to match your current view, simply let go for a second and it goes to 'normal'.

Actually PS2 is the easilest to program for, which is why the majority of Game developers buy the PS2 development kit over any other development kits. The PS2 can also do online a lot better than the Cube , along with the harddrive that the GameCube will almost never have.

The PS3 is going to be a nightmare to program for, not the PS2. The PS2's editors and compilers are a cup of coffy.

Hmm... Has anyone here programmed for either the cube OR the PS2? I honestly don't believe either one of you on it being easy or hard to program for, and I take the comments of an individual programmer with a grain of salt... People play favorites... There are those out there who honestly prefer the PS2, and those that prefer the cube... Once again, this is a guess and my guesses and a 75 cents can get you a round of Dance Dance revolution at my local arcade, but I'm thinking it's generally americans who prefer the X-box because, I'm guessing, it's probably like programming for windows. PS2 may be a nightmare for some because of what they're used to, and not for others... But, I don't know either...

About RE, it seems that the fourth (well, not really fourth...) game is deviating from it's roots pretty seriously... Sorta like Silent Hill is doing. I may check this out if I find a friend with a cube...

The RE controls immitate an FPS... It's just not good for third person games. Does RE have the OPTION of the other control scheme like SH does? If I had to stick with the RE control scheme on SH2 and 3, I would have quit... They're horrible...

The standard RE control scheme IS quite confusing.

Yeah... That's why they should do both. So we would both be happy. That's what Silent Hill 2 and 3 do... I hope that's what Silent Hill 1 does.

It is a shame i won't have the classic sci-fi/horror zombies, but i bet the new one will be fun in its own way.
As for the controls after the learning curve, the up = direction character is facing is great. and IMO is the only style that should be used with dynamic, changing camera angles. The ones that don't just really make me mad, the camera angle changes and they give you a second or two to start pushing the completely different direction to continue you characters current direction... WRONG... gah, that irritates me.
