I have very little to add to the deep discussion you guys have going on here (I'd join, but its been ages since I read DN and I'd be a little lacking on arguments XD;; )

I watched maybe 12 episodes of the anime when it was coming out on fansubs because I LOOOVEEDD the manga... and that's probably why I eventually just didn't care about it anymore. Its hard to make a series so based on pages and pages of dialogue into an equally amazing anime... Though I thought it was good, I'd read the story before in a format I preferred and that was that.

ANYWAYS I checked out the last episode just because I wanted to see how it turned out and surprisingly, I liked the English version better (at least on the laugh). This is very strange for me because I almost always go with the Japanese... but this Brad Swaile guy did an incredible job. Almost makes me want to rewatch some parts of the anime.
