My Gosh This is Why I Love Pixar.

I absolutely LOVED Wall-E~~!~ Every minute I was captivated by the stunning visuals.
As an English major, I LOVE words...LOVE them. And yes, there is little dialogue, but there is SO MUCH character! The story is precious and very well mapped out in my opinion.
Also...I don't know if anyone stayed to watch the credits... buuuut...they were genius too!
Showing the progression of humankind by doing different phases of artwork.... starting off with heiroglyphics, transitioning into impressionism, realism...there's a nice Van Gogh piece. haha Anyway...

the social and political commentary was very prominent. And no I wasn't expecting it, but I found it bold, honest, and well done!
This film has surpassed every expectation I had for it...and I'm a big Pixar fangirl...and they have not disappointed me yet! I think it's one of their best, if not the best so far.

The score was wonderful... and man, those eyes of Wall-E's... so full of emotion for an animated robot. Go see it! XDDD

Yeah, that was really impressive. I knew they were going to build a crazy rigged platform to animate wall-e's face, but really, he was capable of pulling off so many emotions with just his eyes. I wonder if they researched anime for that.

I just got back from seeing this movie for free, thanks to a "Family Fun Day" thing being held by my job. XD In short, this movie was fantastic, amazing, wonderful, funny, heartwarming, and well, a must-see. Definitely. I wish EVE had talked more though, I liked her voice.

What made me sad though, is in the middle of the movie I saw a woman and her kids get up and leave. I'm assuming her kids got bored and so they left, since they didn't pay anything. Still makes me a bit sad. :\ So I guess if you've got really little brothers and sisters they might be bored by it?

And from looking on Wikipedia on the DVD release of this movie, they'll have a short called BURN-E, which will be about the welding robot that got locked out during the movie. That's pretty rad.

The short was incredible and comedic. The movie was just plain amazing. Far and above almost anything else they've made, its both deep and accessible, and it flat out looks beautiful.

I think I'm gonna have a goofy grin on my face for the next month every time I start my computer up though.

I just got back from seeing it.

Absolutely one of Pixar's best. It ranks right up there with Toy Story and A Bug's Life for me. The animation was brilliant and the story was masterfully told. To develop characters using mostly images and music is a pretty amazing feat, and this movie totally pulled that off. The whole thing was absolutely charming.

As far as the message goes, I thought it was great. In a society that communicates via technology so often, it was nice to hear a "stop looking at your cell phone and communicate with someone next to you" message. And I agree that it was showing the best of humanity as well. Really, it was very well done.

Also, the animated short had me in tears I laughed so hard. XD Definitely one of my favorite shorts they've done thus far, right up there with Geri's Game. XD

Just saw it today; excellent movie! Whenever Eve whipped out her ray gun and blew something up I couldn't help but laugh. The animation was top notch, and the ending credits were beautiful. I didn't see the beginning short because I arrived late, so I can not comment on that.

As for kids, my six year old sister watched the whole movie without complaining. I think that I enjoyed the movie more than she did, however.

I would have no reservations recommending this movie to anybody.

Wall-E is the best movie I have seen this year. It executed a textbook (without feeling cliche) romantic comedy/adventure with almost no dialogue, portrayed chemistry and emotion with machine actors, entertained with sight gags without being slapstick (unlike the short before it, which was pure, clever slapstick (and even reminded me of the game Portal)), was widely accessible, maintained a lasting ability to appeal due to avoiding other studios' wanton pop-culture references, spoke deeply about our culture without being preachy by getting us to laugh at ourselves, served as a polemic against naturalistic worldviews (in the conflict between "survival" and "living"), consumerism, obsession with convenience, and the like; it also restored my hope for art and film. Wall-E is art, and excellent art at that. Everyone should see it. In my estimation, it's Pixar's best.

The previews, however, disappointed me. Beverly Hills Chihuahua is going to be utter drivel, Bolt's going to be cliche and hackneyed, and Journey to the Center of the Earth looks like fun, but probably won't be anything terribly ground-breaking. The only movie I'm really looking forward to seeing right now is The Dark Knight (and maybe Hancock and Hellboy 2)

Just saw it today. It's a beautiful movie in every sense. The animation is jaw-dropping, the story un-cliche, the characters endearing and the emotion genuine.

I find it ironic that the animated movies that have the most positive things to say about humanity feature robots as the main characters (Iron Giant, Robots, Wall-E).

I thought that Toy Story 2 shouldn't be made, but then I saw it and promptly changed my mind. If there is any company that can pull off a sequel that stands on it's own two legs, it's Pixar.

Please remember that Disney only distributes Pixar's movies. The horrible Disney sequel curse doesn't apply here. XD

Toy Story has a bit of potential in that Andy has finally outgrown his toys and is off to college (that, and Toy Story 2 was amazing), but Cars was fairly self-sufficient. Any sequel would just feel tacked on. It does not help that I thought Cars was one of their weaker concepts.

I am divided on Pixar as I am with Tim Schafer; I want sequels, but I also want to see just how much mileage these people can get out of their imaginations.

While I think there are Pixar films far, far more deserving of a sequel than Cars (INCREDIBLESINCREDIBLESINCREDIBLES), Pixar doesn't really strike me as the kind of company that just ignores criticism, which Cars garnered a lot of. I have faith that it will, at least, be pretty good.

But then, I'm stupidly optimistic.

I don't get why every hates Cars. I enjoyed it a lot. Not as good as The Incredibles, Finding Nemo or Monsters Inc. but still very enjoyable. Also Ratatouille gets a lot of crap and that was very good.

Talking automobiles doesn't have the same charm as living toys. A narrow difference, but it's there.

And I'm not saying Cars was bad, none of Pixar's movies are bad, but comparatively speaking, it is the weakest link. And if it wasn't, it's pretty self-contained and doesn't really lend itself to a continuation.

Also, Ratatouille was amazing, arguably their best film yet.

As long as Brad Bird is busy with other projects (he is currently in charge of a movie about the San Francisco earthquake), an Incredibles sequel won't be happening. Mr. Bird has said himself that he would like to do a sequel, but he wants it to be the best movie he can possibly make. With him busy, it's the last thing on his mind.

As for Cars getting a sequel, the movie might have been slightly weaker, but the merchandise sells like hotcakes.

Regarding Ratatouille, while I don't think it was awful, it wasn't that good.

I agree. Even though the premise kinda reminded me of The Brave Little Toaster (probably because I used to watch that movie all the time... XD), I can see Pixar taking the storyline and turning it into something totally original. I'm looking forward to it.

As for WALL-E, I absolutely loved it. Definitely THE best film I've seen in a long time, and probably my favorite Pixar one now! The scenes at the beginning were the best, in my opinion -- they were funnier (surprisingly), and the slower pace was such a nice change from most kids' movies you see nowadays.

Plus, the music and animation were amazing, and I loved WALL-E and Eve so much. They had the cutest voices and personalities, and their relationship was just so...aww. XD *fangirls*

Well, for starters, it has multiple cute robots. XD

But what else does it have going for it: perfectly executed, original storyline; great comedic and dramatic timing; relevant and heartwarming message that is not tacked on nor heavy-handed; intelligent and not pandering in the least; beautiful animation and score.

It was way, way better than I had expected, and my expectations were pretty high.

Anyway, with a 97% fresh rating on RT and 8.9/10 on IMDB, it's obviously more than just a cute robot.

Saw WALL-E this afternoon. Loved it. The opening short was also wonderful, a draw back to classic Warner Brothers.

Not sure why all the rage against the perceived socio-political commentary though (not necessarily here...).
