Teenage Girls make Pact to get Pregnant

Talk about anything in here.

I'll say it--"Thank God they're not aborting."

It's bad that they got pregnant at this young age, its even worse that some of them reduced themselves down to the lowest common level by having sex with some guy on the street, but to terminate the life of the child that didn't ask to come into the world...that's just sickening.

These girls are in for a rough ride--growing, stretching, kicking, pushing...and that's just childbirth.

True...what they're doing's horrible enough, at least they're not compounding it though.

This is what happens when you let your daughters see Juno or Knocked up.
Oh, Hollywood, where have thine morals of old gone?

This, I believe, is the work of Baal. To explain, in Bible times, heathen cultures worshiped little gods (Baals), one of which was the god of fertility. This is only one form of Baal, who's name means god or lord of in hebrew. He also takes other such forms as money, war, wheather, covenant and others.
I learned all of this from a video teaching done by a gentleman by the name of Dutch Sheets, a short four week class my youth pastor took my youth group through a month or so back this year.

I find it sad that the only way these girls think they can have unconditional love is by having a baby, not even through a significant other, who by rights should be the father.

Speaking of which, how on earth did she find that homeless guy?? That is really disturbing.

Hollywood having morals? LOL Those moral videos you're thinking of from way back in the day were made possible by censorship codes that the studios were forced to follow because they were putting out stuff that's just as bas as some of the things in films today, and there were no rating systems back then. Also, I don't see how referencing Juno and Knocked Up prove anything. I haven't seen Knocked Up, but Juno doesn't make pregnancy look cool or anything. Let's not play the "blame Hollywood for influencing our youth in a bad way" card because the responsibility is all on the parents, who should have been there to guide these girls.

And that's quite interesting, Nate, XDDD.

This is a really sad situation for the girls, their families, and their soon-to-be children.

But seriously guys.

Who in their right mind would WANT childbirth before they're ready for it?

'Cause I mean I dunno but I've heard it's PRETTY PAINFUL. XD

Seriously. Have fun with your bizarre cravings, your morning sickness, your hormones, and your HOMEWORK, girls. XD

I haven't seen it either, but I just read the plot synopsis on Wikipedia. It actually seems like it's a very good movie. Aside from the fact that the couple in question had premarital sex, the majority of the movie is the guy taking responsibility for getting the woman pregnant, promising to marry her, and the difficulties their relationship has from them not knowing each other, but by the end of the movie they marry and settle down happily ever after.

The pact these girls made doesn't seem to involve marriage at all, especially not if one of them had some random homeless guy impregnate her. So I'd say this movie hardly had an influence on them.
the responsibility is all on the parents, who should have been there to guide these girls.

Honestly (and although I mentioned parents/family earlier) it's probably just as bad to blame the parents as much as it is Hollywood or anything else. What shapes people, their morality and their decisions in life is a combination of many things, and often, can't be traced to any one particular trigger. I know of people who make poor decisions and live sinful lives after having grown up in a Christian family with strongly involved parents and attended church their whole lives. One of them is my brother.

Granted, the fact that these girls are desperate for a child probably does say that their family situation is less than ideal, given that they're starved for love and attention likely. But to say it is the parents' fault is just as bad as saying that it's the media's fault]And that's quite interesting, Nate, XDDD.[/QUOTE]

Yeah, it just goes to show how desperate these girls are. They seem willing to put themselves through all of that just to have something that will love them back. Very sad.

Homework will most likely not be an issue since it is unlikely they will be able to finish school anyways...I'm sure they aren't thinking about that but rather about the "fun" they will have and the "attention" they will get...

I think what is more sad about this situation is that 1. the parents have no clue (altho you can't completely blame them cuz the school would probably hide the fact the girls want to get pregnant anyways - their right to "privacy" ya know..><) and 2. why do they want this to begin with? Why are they so starved of love and common sense that they do this?

Altho some adults want was these girls want too so *shrug* can't completely blame it on age

And all throughout is a barrage of profanity, sexually explicit dialogue, and a scene of the baby crowning enough to make Kevin Smith blush.

I wouldn't go around wholeheartedly recommending it.

At the very least, don't get talked into seeing it by a date like I did. Know the facts: Judd Apatow films make for very uncomfortable dates.

I dunno. The Hollywood spin on it says nothing of the fact that the two main character randomly hooked up after a drunken night in the bar. They wind up living happily ever after once the baby is born. I think, in a backwards way, it kind of does encourage "getting pregnant sounds awesome!"

This whole issue hits home for me, in a twofold sense. First, it brings to mind how frightening and devastating it was to be pregnant at 17. I had a huge decision to make, a LIFE ALTERING decision, and no one could make it for me.
Thankfully, I had family and friends to help me, support me and guide me into being a loving parent, albeit a permissive one in many ways...
Secondly, this story broke just as I have been coming to grips with the reality that eleven years later, I find myself pregnant again and unmarried (soon to be rectified, I pray!), twenty eight years old and still frightened about having a child.
The reality is that this is NOT what God intended... A coming baby is meant to be a time for celebration for the parents, who were joined before God and are living out His holy commandment to be fruitful and multiply, to raise families and give honor to Him...

*sigh* today's lack of morals shouldn't be a surprise... as we draw near to the end of days, we see more and more perversion...

My heart and prayers are with these girls, their babies and their families...

I believe they say childbirth to a woman is like getting hit with full force in the crotch to a man.

At any rate, I think we're quick to go and blame the parents, but the truth is, we don't know the circumstances. Perfectly normal, lovely, open parents can still raise terrible children-- it's just childhood disobedience, and I think we can all attest to its existence and prevalence. Conservative parents will blame parents of bad eggs for being too loose and lenient, while liberal parents will cite oppressive strictness as the cause of behavioral anomalies.

Source: life. My parents raised me wonderfully, to be normal and moral and compassionate, and I didn't listen to a word they ever said. S'why I turned out like this.

But giving birth lasts a lot longer than a solid kick. My mom was in labor for 24 hours with me, and she's reminded me of it many a time. XD I'd take the crotch shot any day of the week.

honestly... as long as you have decent drugs (demerol, stadol, epidural...) it's not that bad... of course, my labor was only ten hours for my daughter, six for my son... but the epidural is awesome... I will have another one of those...

As for the statement about Mr. Sheets being a 'fake "prophet" wack-job who believes God is powerless and needs humanity.', I'm going to need to see the link where you get your proof. What I have said about the Baal spirit, I can assure you, is true, though. My pastor can attest to that. I would agree with many of the others who've replied as well; this does seem to be a cry for help from these young girls who seem to be looking in all the wrong places for love and affection.

Only if in the sense that two people admit they screwed up, live up to their mistake, and end up making good out of it yes. What the movie is actively encouraging is to man up to your own idiocy and make something of yourself. It's kind of like saying that a movie where a man fights his way tooth and claw through addiction to alcohol encourages drunkeness.

'how YOU can do this and how YOU can do that and together WE can do this and it makes YOU special in your own way.' mentality. i barely saw anything on there about God. at least in the buttons I clicked on at the top of his page.

but that's neither here nor there.

anyway, back on topic, I feel really bad for these girls, because they are going to realize giving birth isn't a walk in the park. nor the wonderful years of puking, pooping, crying babies.

I have to admit vowing to get pregnant is at least more admirable than a pact to just, you know, lose your virginity (which is not uncommon), though arguably it is also twice as stupid; I doubt any of these girls have either the means nor the mind to raise a child.

That's part of the problem. This guy loves to talk about how he has a direct hotline to God and how he is all buddy-buddy with the Holy Spirit. The problem is that he seems to have forgotten not all spirits are from God.

Now I'm not saying Dutch Sheets is a Satan-worshiper. That'd be stupid. He's clearly not. But I wouldn't exactly say he's following Christ, at least, not in the sense that a Christian should. Sure, he believes in Jesus, and the Bible, but so do Mormons. It's kind of like how if you ask a Mormon, "So, do you believe Jesus is the Son of God and died on a cross for your sins?" they'll say "Yep we sure do!" But they're not Christians.

The guy has a list of prophecies on his website, and when a person does something like that, it's pretty simple to see if they're a false prophet or not. If they ever have a single prophecy that doesn't come true, they're false, no matter how many they get right.
What I have said about the Baal spirit, I can assure you, is true, though.

Baal doesn't exist. It is a fake god, with no power. Any spirit comes from one of two places: God or Satan. There is no "Baal." Therefore everything he says about the "Baal spirit" is a total load too. Any evil or terrible thing in the world can only come from sinful human nature, the fallen nature of Creation, or Satan himself.
