I haven't seen it either, but I just read the plot synopsis on Wikipedia. It actually seems like it's a very good movie. Aside from the fact that the couple in question had premarital sex, the majority of the movie is the guy taking responsibility for getting the woman pregnant, promising to marry her, and the difficulties their relationship has from them not knowing each other, but by the end of the movie they marry and settle down happily ever after.
The pact these girls made doesn't seem to involve marriage at all, especially not if one of them had some random homeless guy impregnate her. So I'd say this movie hardly had an influence on them.
the responsibility is all on the parents, who should have been there to guide these girls.
Honestly (and although I mentioned parents/family earlier) it's probably just as bad to blame the parents as much as it is Hollywood or anything else. What shapes people, their morality and their decisions in life is a combination of many things, and often, can't be traced to any one particular trigger. I know of people who make poor decisions and live sinful lives after having grown up in a Christian family with strongly involved parents and attended church their whole lives. One of them is my brother.
Granted, the fact that these girls are desperate for a child probably does say that their family situation is less than ideal, given that they're starved for love and attention likely. But to say it is the parents' fault is just as bad as saying that it's the media's fault]And that's
quite interesting, Nate, XDDD.[/QUOTE]
