Horses can no longer be slaughtered in the U.S.

I agree about turkeys though -the fact that they've been bread for larger chests and can no longer breed naturally but only through AI. But some people are still breeding the traditional turkeys.
A lot of the videos people find online such as "Meet Your Meat" are the exception rather than the rule. I am an animal science major at my college and when we process animals for meat, there are very stringent humane laws we absolutely must follow. I won't go into all of them --but the main one is all animals must be rendered senseless before we even do anything else --that way they feel no pain. If done properly, the animal is unconscious and feels nothing.
The few plants that do not treat their animals humanely are again, the exception --not the rule. Not all plants treat the animals badly.
Just wanted to clear that up...

Meat is the only natural source for many of the B vitamins (including Vitamin B-12).

Edit: None of this is directed at you, Doubleshadow. I think you are doing a good thing for yourself. Just be sure to supplement your diet with the right vitamins.
This was mainly directed at those who made comments about cruelty in agriculture.
