I'm sure thousands of animals somewhere have died whenever you've been behind the wheel of a vehicle. :p

Yes I knew what you meant but the way you phrased it, I had to say something. XD

I wish I could say I've never run over an animal but I think I have at least once, so... :\

Yeah, I've run over animals before, too. I think I've hit at least a couple birds that seemed to swoop right in front of the car before I could react. Slowing down a little or safely steering away to avoid animals is okay, but swerving or stopping dangerously is definitely out of the question. I've heard that people have died from trying to avoid animals and ending up in deadly accidents. :(

My sister and my cousin have hit buck on two separate occasions. And not somewhere out in the wild, here in the city.

That happened to my dad last year and dented his car. *shakes fist at road-crossing deer*

I've heard that more people are killed by deer in the U.S. than any other animal --for the very reason TallHobbit mentioned.

It makes sense. You hit the deer and it can go through your windshield or you try to avoid said deer and hit a tree or oncoming vehicle.

Deer can also inflict serious injury with their hooves if you're stupid enough to cover yourself with deer pheromones like that one guy...

I haven't hit an animal while driving either...but when out at the state park, I too had to stop for a turtle crossing the road.
Those birds that swoop in front of your vehicle scare me sometimes --it's almost like they're playing some sort of game.
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
