"To be a good listener, you must acquire a musical culture...you must be familiar with the history and development of music, you must listen...to receive music you have to open your ears and wait for the music, you must believe that it is something you need ...to listen is an effort, and just to hear has no merit. A duck hears also." - Igor Stravinsky

I remember hearing about chocolate covered crickets on Saved By The Bell and thought they were chocolate molded into a shape of crickets @__@; I heard otherwise >_>

My parents have eaten bugs.. I've never touched them o.o; These aren't the kind you find on the ground though. These are the kind that other people find and stick them in packages and sell at the Asian stores ~(O__O)~

I'll eat 'em if I can eat 'em southern style--

Deep fried with a salad and a side of fries.

Lol, I should have known they would mention Thailand :P I posted before I read the article :P Ah well, Laos and Thailand aren't too far off from one another and basically eat the same foods ^^ I forgot what show it was, but it was on the Cooking Channel. A guy who goes around the world and eats strange and weird foods ^^ When my mom saw the part where he goes to Thailand and tries the different bugs from one of those side vender shops (there's alot of those). She was all like,"That's a.. so and so bug. Those are really good." I was like,"Ummm.... I guess o.o?"

People will believe ridiculous things, for sure, but that's not terribly ridiculous.

Yeah, I bet with seasoning or something the bugs would taste better. I bet that it would be a lot easier to eat them if everyone else was eating them too. :lol:

Probably ^^; Maybe.. who knows if I would if even that xD;

Maybe, if they were dipped into A LOT A LOT A LOT of chocolate ^______^

I guess it just it's such a hard concept for us to grasp since we never been faced by eating insects. Like those in third world countries such as Laos and Thailand. It's so weird listening to my parents say how good red ants are O_O;

I'd imagine they wouldn't be too bad if they were dead, but what if they were alive and bit your tongue or something while you were trying to eat them? O.O

Nate, stop expecting people to read the rest of the thread. You know they're not going to.

Back on subject, eating bugs doesn't appeal to me at all, though if thoroughly cooked, I'm open to being convinced otherwise.

Anyone remember that "news" show on Nick with Linda Ellerbee? Man, that was way back in the day. Anyway, they did a little thing on a theater in NYC back in the 90s offering baked crickets alongside their popcorn.
