Cherry Blossom Time!

Postby Kisa » Sun Mar 28, 2004 3:54 pm

Ok, its that time of year again, Cherry Blossoms! (Sakuras in Japanese ^_^)
Has anyone ever been to see em? What did you think? Where did you see them?
I will be getting to go for my first time this year to see them, I can't wait!

We had a couple cherry trees on our farm when I was growing up, but I don't remember the blossoms. I remember picking the cherries and how they were sour when you'd eat them right off the tree, and I remember the cherry pies my mom would make! MMMM!

Where are you going to see the cherry blossoms, Belldandy?

*sighs* I wish I could see the cherry blossoms bloom! ^^ When I went to Washington D.C., I missed the Cherry Blossom festival there by a day. That was a real bummer.

Cherry blossoms are so pretty! I've never seen them personally, but I love them. When I grow up and have my own house and yard, I'm planting a cherry tree, just so I can see the pretty blossoms. ^_^

The choice has been made. There's no looking back. I won't let up, back up, give up, or shut up. My focus clear. My path is straight. My God, reliable. I'm a disciple of Christ.

Gods plan is like the sun. its too big and bright to look at directly, and sometimes the rain clouds cover it, but sometimes the plan dapples through the clouds and we can see beautiful glimpses of what he has in store for us.

I just went to DC yesterday and they are beautiful. Well, minus the fact they are pink *shudder* Pink is even more eviler then green- but thats another story. I'm not quite sure where I was at the time when I saw some sort of cathedral surrounded with Cherry Blossoms. Very, very prettiful ^^ hehe But I never realized people wanted to see them. Guess thats just one of the things you don't realize until you talk with people who don't always have a chance to see things. But then again I remember when I lived in Texas we always tried to go back to New York so we could see the leaves ^^ who knew, and once again I've rambles into another offtopic topic.
"Tell me not, in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
and things are not what they seem.
Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou art; to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul."

Of course, for anime devotees, there's only ONE type of blossom worthy of recognition.

All I have to say is--FOR SHAME.

There are plenty of other great blossoms out there. If you keep your mind affixed on just the Sakura, you'll miss out on the apples, the dogwoods, and so forth. We got these wicked white blossoms at school.

Spiritsword: Where are you going to see the cherry blossoms, Belldandy?

I am going April 10th, our school is having a free bus trip to DC for it! ^_^ I can't wait! A bunch of us are going!
Yea, lol, I guess we are obviously biased on the blossoms we like. Dogwoods are so pretty too though! I also like tulips! ^_^
I will take lotsa pic when I'm there and try to post them for everyone to enjoy! Only two more weeks!
