Batman: The Brave and the Bold

Postby minakichan » Mon Apr 14, 2008 9:25 pm

(Any DC fans out there? I'm only one when it's not completely embarassing to admit.)
And now for something completely different from the upcoming Gotham Knight anime:

(OH MY PANTS NO, WHAT HAVE THEY DONE?!?!?!?!)

I have to say that I really despise this art style (it creeps me out even more than The Batman does, and that says something), and supposedly this is going to be more comic than drama, buuuuuuuut. Jaime Reyes as the Blue Beetle. Considering that he's the best and least angsty teen superhero in existence, I will watch this show just for him. I never knew he was mainstream enough for TV though.

When I first heard about Batman: The Brave and the Bold, I was like yay.

Then about a week ago, I read what the series will be about and saw the picture and I was like yuck!

I just keep watching Batman: TAS, Superman: TAS, Justice League and Justice League Unlimited.

The style is supposed to be a throwback to the old comics, like in the Batman: TAS episode "Legends of the Dark Knight." So I think it looks good in that way.

I don't know much about the Blue Beetle, but he seems interesting...

I don't mind the art style at all. BB's pretty cool too.

YAY~ *high-fives Kurama* Jaime needs sooo much more love.

In case the rest of y'all aren't yet aware of Blue Beetle III's inherent awesomeness, here is my attempt to persuade you otherwise:

Now go read it. Real superhero material right there.

At least this looks better than "The Batman".

With DC remembering Blue Beetle, maybe now Marvel will remember Deadpool. Hey, I can dream, can't I?

DC should sue Jeff Matsuda for that debacle. It is unworthy of the Dark Knight.:mutter:

YES. TIMES A THOUSAND TIMES.

Wiki tells me Deadpool's going to be in the Wolverine movie. While "Wolverine movie" and "sequel to the X-Men movies" make me skeptical... IT'S DEADPOOLLLLLLLL.

Head, Dead Pool is getting lots of love! He has his own comic series, which is wonderful, AND he's appearing in the Wolverine Movie like Mina said!

Whoa, time out. Did I miss something in the Marvel universe lately? Like Wolverine having the adamantiumremoved from his bones.... again?

Also, so I don't completely derail this thread, I am utterly terrifed by that picture.

This post has forced me to drastically reassess my preconceived notions of this show.

I LOVE BLUE BEE AND DEADPOOL!
They're kinda the comedy relief! Not much of that anymore, eh?

Yay! Finally, mention of Deadpool. ^^

...but I'm worried. If he is going to be in the new Wolverine movie, I can expect them to completely ruin his character. :stressed: Like they did with the X-Men movies. *mopes in a corner* Oh~ Nightcrawler! What have those evil, money grubbing people-who-apparently-never-read-an-Xmen-comic-before done to you?! :(
