Talk about anything in here.

C'mon guys. Let's do a breathing exercise.

Postby ~darkelfgirl~ » Sun Apr 13, 2008 11:22 am

This thread isn't a joke.

C'mon, let's do it. Seriously. I'll do it, too.

Inhale for five, exhale for five. Repeat till you feel better (or dizzy).

Now meditate on what reply you are going to post on a thread in this forum before you post it.

It seems like these few days have been filled with pointless drama about things that don't really or shouldn't really matter to us.

Let's remember that CAA stands for Christian Anime Alliance, not Chaos And Animosity. Maybe I blew that out of proportion, but let's keep the peace. And I love you guys and apologize for any insults/offenses I've given to anyone.

Deep breathing is a great way to relax! ^_^ I'm taking yoga this semester at my college( wooot my instructor is a Christian and doesn't teach us the wierd stuff :3)

Deep Breathing, and yoga have actually been proven to keep the blood pressure down and stuff.

My instructor is 70 years old, and she has been doing dance and yoga for a long time. And the last time she went to the doctor, they told her she had the blood of a 30 year old, and that her body was 15 years younger than her age. Nifty, ne?

But seriously, what's going on? I haven't really seen a lot of animosity?

Ooh, I always wanted to take yoga (well the mystic-free one). Wow, so it really does work :D.

Well, I kinda exaggerated with the use of 'animosity', but things have been seeming...negative lately. Maybe it's because I'm viewing things on a different perspective here, but I'm not too sure.

Alright.

But I think that there's too much drama in certain debates. It's not necessary.

Some need to state their points without the 'extra baggage'. If it isn't going to contribute to the good of the debate, I think it's best not to say it at all. If you know you're going to have to apologize for that later, don't say it at all.

Not like I'm innocent or anything. Definitely not innocent.

yeah, I totally agree with you, DEG ^_^ I've seen some threads that are incredibablly cynical...it's a downright draaaaaaaaagg

Tai-chi is soooooo calming... ¦D~ I really enjoy it... you can do it faster if you know the moves, but I prefer just going with the flow.

yup! Yoga really works! I can't believe how in just half a semester I'm a lot more flexible and stuff. It's awesome! 83

It's pretty strenuous at first, and there are a few poses that I just won't do.. >_< some of the are downright crazy, I'll admit. And being a slightly larger person, I'm just not confident that my body can do the things that my skinny classmates can do XD.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkRwpevbem8- some of my classmates can go from this pose into a total headstand O_O it's awesome but I just can't get my body to do it XD

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hu9Sq1RvuoA&feature=related I do aA LOT of these poses too..sooo relaxing! ¦D~

NAMASTE everyone! 83

Lol Thanks fellow CAAers^^

I drink my green tea without sugar. It's...an interesting taste. :D

XD So right, Kit-chan. My thighs kinda prevent that from happening. I can't see the first video for some reason, but I can't do that flat touch-your-toes thing in the second. If I could, I'd be able to escape a prison cell or something . I'd just need baby oil.

I know maybe two yoga stretches; they're comfortable.

I know the feeling. Esoteric has been waiting for the last chapter of my story that she's been illustrating for forever.

I understand you do YA? I've tried it a few times, and would be interested in seeing what you've got. Do you post online anywhere?

More on Topic, the original advice at the top of this thread is always good advice, whether we know what discussions prompted it or not.

It is also excellent advice for RL. And I truly wish more people, and especially more Christians, would heed it. "A word in the air is a bird that cannot be caught." That's an old proverb, not my original, and I wish I knew where it came from, but I learned it when I was very young.

Sadly, I've forgotten to follow that advice too many times in my life.

Another one, that I may or may not have written myself. Too long ago be sure:

"A regret is a wisdom remembered too late."
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May He cause His face to shine upon you.
May He lift up His countenance and grant you peace.

Maokun: Ninjas or Pirates? (Vikings are not a valid answer, sorry)

EricTheFred: Vikings are always a valid answer.

To the Lady: Same here. I've been starting a lot of stories, lately. I'm almost finished with one...but I'm blocked on it, too.

A story? Sounds interesting. Is it on Work Bench?

Is that question to me or Rushia?

Nice proverb. I do wish a lot of Christians would think before they speak. I wish they'd realize that the things that they say now drastically affect the future. Sometimes, the things said in Sunday School really surprise me.

The question was to Rushia, who posted somewhere else that she likes to write Young Adult stories (i.e. middle-school to teen market).

I'm working on a series of sci-fi short stories tht Esoteric is doing illustrations for. They aren't on Workbench, where she posts her own stories, but I recommend people checking her work out. My series will be posted on a chapter-per-month basis like a Japanese-style serialized novel (the 'light novels' in manga magazines). I had hoped it would go onto a webcomic host, but I think now it will be the premier product on a light novel website I start myself.

I need to get my butt in gear and finish up the first story (have a couple later stories complete, the first one is one chapter short of finished) and get the web site up, but I was knocked off my feet by illness late last year and still not quite back to normal. I'm working on it again, and Esoteric's very good work is an incentive. The pics she's done so far deserve to be shown!

XD, I don't remember saying this specifically, but the stories I have right now would appeal to teen readers. And I got out of my writer's block, which makes me happy~
I haven't posted anything on the internet, though. Actually, I don't have much typed up at all (I mostly use notebooks). When I do type something up, I'm not sure if I'll post it anywhere online. **is kind of paranoid about people stealing her ideas** I do intend to share it with people I trust, though (editing is a writer's best friend~).

Yay--good for you!

I'm kinda scared, too. That's why I don't think I'm going to post all of Aegis here. I don't want to put a long series on the Internet, just moderate or short stories. I'll probably send the rest to you and Temulin in an email.

Do you remember when I told you I was working on a larger scale novel on chat? I combined that with a bunch of other ideas. That's what was supposed to be directly Christian, but I'm making it an allegory, since it's fantasy.

I remember where I saw it now. You mentioned it in the "Uniqueness Thread".

I recommend to both you and DarkElfGirl a site called "Writing.com". I've been a member for a couple years. You can post stories and such there, and if you have a paid membership instead of the freebie starter level, you can set levels of trustedness, including locking your work for viewing only by those you give a password to (and you can set separate passwords.). There are several user groups there that function just like local writing clubs.

If you go check it out, my user ID there is same as here, "EricTheFred" (or "Eric The Fred", but I think you need to leave the spaces out to search.)

Inside Writing.com , look for the Novel Writers Group. You will find it has a very strange range of genre divisions (including a Christian division and an Erotica division, and how they don't end up shooting at each I'll never know, but everyone gets along) including a young writer's group. They organize competitions, do mutual support for National Novel Writing Month (I recommend every young writer give NaNoWriMo at least one shot) do advice forums, etc. etc. When I'm more active than now, I'm a regular there.

Oh, okay. Thanks. I definitely want to try a writing contest sometime, and an online writing group is something I may look into once I actually get things typed up and I'm relatively comfortable with sharing my work.

On that note, we have successfully derailed the thread. Yay~!

In an attempt to get back to the actual topic, I definitely think that we would all do well to mind our attitudes and reactions to things. Not that this is a huge, ongoing issue, but sometimes it can get a little dramatic. Again, the drama is for the llamas; those critters love their daytime soaps.
