Need a critique on a page

Postby lightningp » Mon Mar 15, 2004 10:34 am

Hi ya'll,

I sorta couldn't make up my mind on shading some things on my Christian Webmanga. I normally digital tone everything...but decided to experiement with color.

I am kinda torn on what should I do? Should the next issue(which supposed to be out next week) be in full color or stay black/white?

I do everything in photoshop but here are the pages

Black and white?

Color?

I really need your help in this decision. I'm defentely leaning towards color...but I want to see what you all think?
For full issue link it is http://manga.lponline2k4.com/lp2/lp2index.htm

I'm finishing the conclusion now to that issue and will have it up by tomorrow or later tonight (if schedule permits). Thanks a bunch guys!

Hi there! I didn't know you were a member here! I guess I just missed you.

Me, I'd go b&w, for the sole reason that it's faster. The color is really neat, though. That's my prob...I get tied up in the coolness of the color, and then I remember how much longer it takes to do color pages. >.<

People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.

I'm not the best one to critique, bu I still have a long way to go in drawing myself. I agree with Inky, tho. B+W pages. XDDD

That is cool about the b/w pages, they do cool too. It still takes the same amount of time to CG both but the black and white is pretty good as well so, I probably mix the two. :)

Another Cognatio member... welcome.

I concur, black and white works rather well. I also must say, however, that I like the second page a great deal more in color. Action works better for black and white. This is somewhat of a touchy issue, but I'd strongly support doing entire blocks in either black and white or color. The change can work, but makes it more difficult.
