Driving Test

Postby Shao Feng-Li » Thu Mar 13, 2008 2:49 pm

I failed mine today...

Stopped at an intersection. No stop sign, no traffic, no pedestrians... Just stopped and made a left turn. :bang: :shake:

Who here passed theirs or not the first time around?

I passed mine by the skin of my teeth. Three-day driving test... not a pleasant experience.

Good luck on yours next time, though! I'm sure you'll do well!

I failed the written test the first time I took it... I'm not sure HOW in retrospect, but I did. The actual driving part I passed, but I did mess up on parallel parking. IMHO, parallel parking should be illegal. Also, good luck on your second try.

I passed with flying colors (not trying to rub it in or anything...my test was at 8am in a quiet neighborhood, no intersections, no people etc)...driving school paid off XD Granted I'm the only one who actually learned something in my driving school.

The tests in my state are stupid. They have you in this tiny little course and make you do parellel parking that you totally wouldn't do in real life. Just the way it's set up is messed up. I failed it, cried my eyes out, and haven't gotten around to scheduling another one, XD.

Four is a charm for me.

I failed the first three times because I didn't practice at all. XD After a few days of practice, I passed mine with a perfect score.

I actually did pretty good on the written test.(Got a 95) On the driving test I failed the first time just because I forgot to take the emergency break out.:eyeroll:
Still I got to pass it the second time.(Got a 75 or 73) Heh!:P
I'm sure you'll do better next time. My second time was less stressful.

>_>

Weellllll

I actually didn't like driving...(If given the chance I still would rather have someone drive haha...^^; )

But it took me several years before I finally started driving again...

and It wasn't until this year that I have my ACTUAL driver's lisence... I failed the driving test once and retook it, and passed it (remarkably, after hitting a curb... O_o)

so yeah... don't worry it's not the end of the world.

You were failed for that? For being cautious? Wow, you must have had a real jerk riding shotgun.

I passed mine the first time. It was quite easy.

I passed mine the first time. I think I got like a 92 on the written, but that was for my permit. I drove for my license, but it was only a ten to twenty minute test. Not long at all.

I did the same thing. TWICE. XDD

I finally passed on my third try. The first two tries, I was failed for going 36 in a 35 and for not parallel parking as well as they'd liked, as far as I recall. I finally got it at the beginning of my senior year, mostly because I absolutely had to, but I'm glad I did. I love driving. XD

I passed both the written and the driving tests on my first try. But to make things fair, I was sick on the days my picture was taken for my license.... So I look like I'm intoxicated on the first, and the second one I look nothing like I do normally.

I failed the first one, passed the second.

I failed the first because I stopped. Behind an ice-cream truck. With children in the area. And didn't go around.

I HATE ice cream trucks... and that testing guy.

I passed the first time. Two dogs in two different areas decided it was a great time to just hang out in the street where I happened to be driving. I was so nervous.

Try scheduling your driving test early in the morning. That way you'll have less time stressing about it all day, and your driving instructor won't be so bitter. Just watch out for the dogs.

You'll have to explain this one to me. I'm slow, you see. How the heck is it fail-worthy to STOP and make a left turn, even though with no other traffic and no stop sign, you didn't necessarily need to stop? By the book or not, you got a jerk.

It was an unnecessary stop at an uncontrolled intersection. It counted as a dangerous maneuver. Doing something like that in a city with lots of traffic could cause an accident.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who cried XD Must be a girl thing. You feel like the biggest idiot and that you're doing everything wrong during the test, lol No matter how nice th lady is...

And it is dangerous. Believe me. The other drivers around you are not expecting you to stop. By stopping, you create confusion, which leads to accidents.

I can top that as a bad excuse for failing some one as well. It took me two tries to get my license. I failed my first test because my left turns were too wide. ;)

Well, I can't really join in this club because I passed my drivers test on the first go. But, I did make a "failable" mistake.

We came to an intersection. The instructor said to turn Right. I turned on my RIGHT blinker, took my foot off the brake, and proceeded to make a LEFT turn. Luckly I caught myself and made the right, but the instructor noticed and docked points. I don't know what happened--guess my wires got crossed.

Don't feel bad though! You'll get the test nailed next time! Just remember to RELAX and that pedestrians are not worth 500 points if you hit them.

The people who have to give driving exams have the worst job in the world. Imagine having to sit in a car with a bunch of nervous 16-17-year-olds all day. No wonder some of them are so bitter. :P

My lady was nice, though, so that was good. I hope I don't get a mean person next time.

I got mine first time for written and practical tests.

Oddly enough, I did fine for the reverse parallel parking, and didn't have to repeat it at all for the 3 or 4 total times I had to do it.

I did however have to repeat the three point turn thing 9 times.... grr...

Also, retest = $6??

Yeah. It's cheap!
I would expect the retest to be the same price as the first test... (and $28 is pretty cheap too..)

I was really lucky on my tests. I passed my written the first time..barely. (I couldn't get the answers right on any of the alcoholic stuff...like I care about alcohol(sp?). ick) Then, I only was tested on HALF the procedures because my test lady had a meeting soon, so the only thing I failed was paralel parking(took too long and was overly cautious of hitting the curb). She wrote down in the comment section for Par. park. "Potential hazard to traffic." Gee. I coulda told her that. I'll drive for blocks just to find a spot that doesn't involve paralel parking.

I have yet to parallel park and I've had a license for 4 years. Go figure.
Though while I was learning how to parallel park I had a guy watching me all concerned, and talking very animatedly on his cell phone....apparently he couldn't figure out what was going on and he found it really suspicious (because the student driver on the car didn't give it a way)

*raises hand*

I'm very sorry to hear that. Don't feel too bad though. I remember the days even when I was taking the written test for the learners permit and I think I failed it about....4 times . Yeah but that was my stupid fault because I got the peer pressure influence from other students when I was in high school "oh you don't have to study for it it's commonse sense" blah blah blah. Granted it is, but guess what; that test really is a test. And it has always added tricky wording to it to get you to really think. So I read the book at least 5 times and that's how I passed.

Anyway as for the drivers test again I say don't feel too bad.

So yeah I failed my drivers test the first time XD. What happened was that the examiner had me make a left at an uncontrolled T intersection, but it was also one of those two way uncontrolled intersections and those can be very dangerous if you're not good with timing. The problem was is that I didn't get any practice on those whatsoever. So I took my left turn, but then another driver almost hit me because I didn't look to my right to see if he was turning into the two way straight I was turning from. So I was turning from a two way street into another two way street. So yeah that's was the automatic failing error I made >__< :bang:. Luckily the second time around when I did take the test I made the turn successfully :D :).

I totally understand now you feel XD. But I know you will pass ;).
