The amount of time/energy/money involved tends to move it out of the realm of reality fairly quickly. Something that has only recently occurred to me, though, would be to have a multi-site meeting.
If we had a west coast, a mid-west, a south, and a northeast meeting, it might be less stressful on people - not to mention on travel budgets. There are other issues, though. I'd be perfectly willing to go to a west-coast caa con, but the hotels in my area kinda expensive. Then there's the question of where do we meet? If we have more than a couple of people, we'll probably want to rent a meeting room somewhere, and that gets very expensive, very quickly. If we knew exactly how many people would come, we might be able to plan it far enough in advance to book rooms, plan activities, and figure out what the total cost would be. Then we could divide that up among everyone, and we'd be pretty much good to go.
All the details are piling up... Ack! I don't know if I can take the stress. THE PAIN!
