Fox brass had made it a priority to find another hit animated comedy to complement its Sunday comedy lineup. It has several cartoons in the works, including an animated version of its 2003 short-lived live-action comedy "The Pitts," from "Simpsons" veteran Mike Scully]

The comedic value of that line-up could be increased greatly if they simply replaced "American Dad" with film of paint drying. It would become more socially insightful as well.

Seriously, though, I’d love to see a comedic series that is funny on it’s own merits instead of simply parodying or stereotyping some group MacFarlane hates. Family Guy is hilarious a good deal of the time, but how many 30 minute slots can really be filled with witty, worth watching “Conservatives are dumb” shtick?

You know, I love Cleveland but I don't think there is enough of him there to really justify a series all his own. I would be kind of like giving a show to Joe from the Simpsons.

This one strikes me as a bit strange, actually. Family Guy isn't watched for the characters, but for random humor. Does he really have so many ideas that he can't distill them into one show?

I'll have to agree with ya on that one. Stewie is so great! Seriously, a baby, who's evil, and of course has an English accent, yup. That's greatness. lol. And brian, I just love his humor. Yeah. I'll probably watch the episode as a trial, but not too sure how into it I will get.

I don't mind watching episodes of brian and stuey, but full episodes of brian and stuey together... yuck. I really wish stuff like family guy would stop being a standard for american animation. One show is enough. I miss mtv's old animation line up ;_;

I don't think it's that...I think it's Seth MacFarlane suffering from a particularly egregious case of television hubris.

In spite of the fact that he has been a key contributor to at least three shows out there - Family Guy, American Dad, and Robot Chicken, I'd say the answer is "No, he doesn't."

I agree Family Guy is about the chemistry of the characters - especially Brian and Stewie, IMO - but any scene with Cleveland slows way down. It's a big part of his character and works in the FG format, but can anyone here imagine a show where Cleveland has any kind of monologue? I can imagine it and I imagine me falling asleep in the gap between words.

I probably would too, but I'd probably be more inclined to watch it then what they're bringing about.

Out of all the Family Guy episodes I've seen [which is pretty much all of them...*shifty eyes*], I love the episodes with Brian and Stewie the best! Stewie's KINDA amaizng. And amusing. Always a good combo. But I have to agree and say that any Family Guy spin off would most likely be a complete flop. Well, long term anyway.

One of my favorite Cleveland lines is... "I got to stop taking baths during Peter's shenanigans."

Im a little skeptical as well, but I'll probably watch it anyway.
