The Best Part of Your Day Today?

Postby RubyJewelStone » Wed Feb 27, 2008 3:03 pm

Just felt like spreading a little optimism, especially since it's way to easy to harp on the negative and on everything that went absolutely wrong. So just like the title implies, post the best part of your day today and find that elusive silver lining.

(If this should go into a different forum, then feel free to move it.)

The best part of my day today was...
discovering that my mom's kids in the daycare actually listen to me. Oh and trying to teach two year olds catching and throwing (besides colds and tantrums, respectively).
I believe in the sun even if it isn't shining. I believe in love even when I am alone. I believe in God even when he is silent.

well this can be taken as bad or good. But I see it as good just not in the typical sense. Well, we are very short on finances at the moment and we could only afford to put in 20 dollars worth of gas in the car. My mother in law and the family (cept my husband and I) are going out to yakima to cheer our highschool basketball team at the state tournament (go raiders!). Anyway, yesterday before I went to work I saw her cat C.C. (short for cookies and creame) walking along the fence. I said hi, then noticed she was missing a patch of fur on her leg and it was somewhat bloody. Called the vet they said to keep an eye on it. couldn't get ahold of MiL so that kind of upset me. So, i called her neice to see if she could stop by early the next morning (today) and take a look at it herself to see how serious it was and if I Needed to rush her to the vet an hour away (yup. an hour. *sigh*). She inspected it and said yes, not because of the wound but because she seemed in pain elsewhere as well. My MiL had woken up and finally I got to tell her about C.C. She said to take her. So, here I am taking a cat to the vet, very low gas tank, and no money down at the vet. Ok, good part. She hands me $50 for gas (have a full gas tank now! well...did but close enough) and when I went there I didn't have an appointment, the vets just told me to get in ASAP. C.C.'s fine. On antibiotics just in case, she also has ear mites that we're treating her for as well. I didn't have to pay for anything afterward. They just took it out of the money she's charging them. They hired my MiL to paint their barn out back next month. She painted their main building before. :) God works in mysterious ways huh?

Oh! best part? I didn't have to miss work! If I did I wouldv'e had to switch days with someone to cover, which means I'd have to work this friday. Not what I want. but, everything worked out so, yea!

Let's see... The best part of my day was finally getting a proof of concept system up and running. I've been working on it for months now, and it looks like the vendor (in this case, Apple) finally got the software working right. :thumb:

I think about the tune-up I have to do on my truck in Nevada. I have never set the dwell angle in a points and condenser ignition vehicle, before! I am quite looking forward to it! (I am not being sarcastic)

Uh...so far, nothing has really happened today. I've just been playing video games and goofing off online. I guess the best thing that's happened is the fact that nothing bad has happened. XD;

It was my second-to-last day of work experience today. We had a review of the work I've done over the past weeks, and they are quite happy with the progress. They'll offer me a position there after I graduate from uni at the end of the year. Yay!
And I got a cool free company polo shirt too! :D

And a package of several CDs ordered from Amazon finally arrived! 'Twas a good day.

I think the best part of my day today is that 1) I'm off today and tomorrow 2) I'm getting my kitten! :D

Best part of today for me? Probably picking up an extra shift today at work (a make up shift since I missed last week). It was a blast working with these 4other kids and just constantly making fun of eachother while making people burritos (I work in the food service industry...go me)

I am learning a new mentality in respect to interactions with my okami. I am shedding off old emotional baggage and allowing God to show me how to have a rewarding relationship with this animal. Today I just stood back and watched his facial expressions for a while. I think I learned more about him by observing him in this manner with an OPEN mind today than I have with just about anything else. He is truly a blessing from God and my good friend. (I NEED to get a camera in there!)

As far as today goes, the best part is being done with classes and having the weekend to get a few projects done (including a late assignment) and SLEEP.

Having a sweet friend who brought me Kleenex and Potato soup this morning. Yay for friends! I feel so loved!

Well, maybe that wasn't the best part, but it's still notable. And the day's not over yet, so the best could be yet to come! :P XD
