Nascar 2008

Postby ChristianKitsune » Fri Feb 08, 2008 2:36 pm

Hey everyone! The 2008 NASCAR season has FINALLY BEGUN!
This year we have some really interesting aspects about this sport (at least these are my opinions, but I wanna hear yours!):

Most important: The entire season will be run using the Car of Today set up. (previously known as Car of Tomorrow) these cars are very boxy, and not as sleek as the old cars, however, they are considerably safer... Last year they raced about half of the season with these cars as a form of testing... But the are certain tracks they haven't been used on...

1. Tony Stewart and his team mates are now driving Toyotas instead of Chevys. I wonder how they will perform this year? Judging by the Budweiser Shootout practice today, they are doing pretty good! But that's just practice and there are over 30 different tracks on the circuit.

2. Dale Jr's move to Hendrick Motorsport: will NASCAR'S most popular driver FINALLY get back into Victory lane this year? (oh, golly I hope soooo!!)

3. Will Hendrick Motorsports continue to dominate week after week? or will a new racing team take over and become the new faces of Nascar?

So what do you think will happen this year? will it be even more exciting and dramatic than last year? ^^; Feel free to share your thoughts!

Juan Pablo Montoya becomes the first international driver to win the Cup.

My prediction for the year.

I feel that Dale Jr will win a few races, but I don't believe that he will win the Cup like DW think he will. He is about one or two years off from that.

But I do feel that Hendrick Motorsport will still dominate this year. Most of the wins they got last year was with the Car of Tomorrow and I feel that have it down pact other then the super speedways.

I feel that Toyota will do better this year. It took about two years for Dodge to win and start doing well. I don't think Joe Gibbs racing wouldn't have gone with Toyotas this year, if they are not going to do well.

OH... YES HE DID!!! 8D

This little Anime/Nascar fan is SOOO HAPPY RIGHT NOW
Jr. led 47 laps in tonights Budweiser shoot-out and with the help of his Hendrick Teammates he was nudged in front of Smoke to win the 30th running of the Budweiser shootout..

this looks like it's gonna be a beautiful relationship...

GO JR. GOOOO!!!

But remember, the Bud Shootout is not a points race, so the win doesn't really count.

True, but it shows that Jr can win and that Hendrick Motorsport just like last year will be hard to beat again.

But I still feel that Dale Jr will not win the cup this year, but someone at Hendrick Motorsports will, just not him.

Doesn't Matter,
As Roy said this proves that Jr. CAN and WILL win.

Think about what this does for his Morale...and how his morale was last year when he wasn't winning. Also, the fact that this was his FIRST race with Hendrick, and he was able to win..shows that he has gotten quite comfortable in his new ride...

Also this makes his fans VERY happy.

oh yeah... and he got money, a trophy, and a trip to Victory lane... just because it's not a points race, doesn't mean its not a good race.

I think this race also proved that to Car of Today cars ARE GOOD for racing! There was a lot of drama on that track tonight...

Well, that is just great. All four of Hendrick Motorsports cars had their engines replaced and will start in the back of the field for tomorrow's 150 mille qualifying races for the Daytona 500.

They didn't have an engine problem all of last year and now they are.

AND The performed REALLY well! ^_^
Jr won his Duel and Today he placed 3rd in the Nationwide CampingWorld 300. XD How ironic is it that he was behind Smoke and the guy who used to drive the number 5?

MAN those Toyotas DID REALLY WELL today, didn't they?!

Tomorrow's races is going to be AMAZINGLY competitive!

I can't wait!

I have my top three who I'd like to see win:

Jr.
Dale Jarret
and Micheal Waltrip! ^_^

(sorry for the Double Post! )

Well The 50th Running of the Daytona 500 is in the Books and I was AMAZED!

Wow, Those Gibb Toyota Teams sure have improved! I mean Kyle Bush DOMINATED the race! (blech) And Stewart was pretty close to winning.

Dale Jr. was the only surving Hendrick racer that was able to contend for the win by the end. Gordon was finished early with a problem, and both Johnson and Mears wrecked late in the race! Jr. went on to finish in the top ten, after failing to pit when everyone else did and driving on older tires. (MAN! >_<)

It was an amazing race, and I'm glad that Newman was able to break his 81 race winless streak! ^_^ That was cool to see, and how he and Kurt Bush (blech) were able to come out of NOWHERE to win.

It was a great Speedweeks, too bad it's over, but this season is going to be AWESOME! 8D.

NASCAR is Back, and it came back strong.
And this little Anime-art-fox Fan couldn't be more excited.

That is something that I don't understand why he didn't pit on the last caution.

I don't have a problem with Tony or Danny winning at JGR, but I just not a fan of Kyle Bush at all.

I was glad to see Newman win it. The one thing that I can say is, not a big fan of both of the Bush brothers. But it sounds like Kurt Bush is trying to act a little better then this younger brother. But then again, Tony and Kurt just have about the same ego about racing, I just never really like Kurt or Kyle for some reason.

haha! yeah...I'm not a fan of either of the Bush Guys either..^^; they both drive me insane. Kyle is too wreckless, and his brother is too much of a whiner. >_<

XD I think Jr. didn't pit becuase he was talking to his spotter, and Tony Eury Jr. couldn't break the chatter to talk to him. As they went by Eury Jr. was like "Well, I was gonna tell you to pit...."

oopsie... ._.;

Well, there was the other cautions before the last one that he didn't pit.

Uh, I think Kyle is more of a whiner then Kurt.

Kyle has been whining since the race has been over and Kurt is fine where he finish in the race, since this team mate won.

Nascar....

is not good for my composure! >_< Today's race (Las Vegas was sooo stressfuuull)

This really is the most stressful sport I know.. gaah... BUT I LOVES IT! 8D

And Jr. Placed second today, and Carl Edwards (one of my favorites but not THE favorite) won tonight and it was a very good finish.

Did you guys see Jeff's Radiator go FLYING?! Duuude that was friggen awesome 8D. TT^TT and his car was sooo pretty....

Glad he's okay though. XD.

I feel bad for Smoke though... ._.

Well Kyle Brush won today.

I just love it, when they race in Atlanta, well the track is not really in Atlanta. My reason is not for the race, but alot of the NASCAR jets fly into my town's airport. I got see the black painted DEI jet on Saturday.

BTW: Dale Jr will race a Mountain Dew retro paint car at Darlington in May.

Link to what the car will look. Its the die cast model and I think I will have to get that one. I want one of Dale Jr's new number anyway.

ROYYYY YOU CAN GETS NEW JR. CARS AT WALMART 8D I got his Amp one...and..my mom surprised me with an unexpected and not necassarily needed Action Figure of Dale Jr. XDDD

Jr. Got third yesterday! That was pretty nifty! ^o^ It's nice to see him lead again..

I think there was a tire issue this weekend... seriously there wasn't enough racing going on the guys were too scared to do anything with the way their tires were..

OOOH that's a nifty car design *D*

I watched some post race interviews on Nascar.com and Jr. was pleading with Goodyear to not bring those tires to Darlington.. I hope Goodyear listens...I know they want to bring safe tires to the sport.. but come on, yesterday's race was almost boring..

Kyle Busch...friggen swept the weekend almost... if it weren't for that tire failure on Saturday...>_< it would have been a Tree weekend..

I wonder what happened to the Hendrick Domination though...they have yet to win this year...hmm it's a nifty break...but I want to see Jr. in Victory lane again... and Casey Mears too..

WOOT next stop Bristol 8D...

although... this track scares me.. XD ever since Jr's engine blew in August... I hope that doesn't happen again.. he almost won that race! 8D

Yeah, I know. But I buy the Action limited run die cast models. Some of them had gone up in value over the years and I sometimes sell a few of them.

I think there was a tire issue this weekend... seriously there wasn't enough racing going on the guys were too scared to do anything with the way their tires were.

There was a tire issue. In all of my life, I ever seen that long of single file racing like that at AMS. Tony was the first one to speak out about it as well Gordon and Jr and a few others.

In the race, I saw alot of the cars get really loose. If you watch how Kyle was handling this car, he was fighting with it all day and there was times that the back end go loose on him and it look like he was going to hit the wall.

I know that cars can be loose, but there was just too many of them doing that on Sunday and it look like the tires were not sticking to the track at all.

I hope Goodyear listens...I know they want to bring safe tires to the sport.. but come on, yesterday's race was almost boring.

It was reported today, that Goodyear officials will not use the controversial Atlanta tire at Texas Motor Speedway for the Samsung 500 on April 6.

Talk about a wierd weekend Texas was..

It started out really amazing...for me, in a good an a bad way.

It was amazing that Micheal McDowell actually SURVIVED that wreck on Friday.. that thing flipped like 12 times >_<.

It was amazing that JR. Got the Pole 8D

It wasn't Amazing when Kyle Busche basically complained when The camera's chased after Jr. Pulling in after beating Edwards.

It wasn't amazing when Kyle Busche won the Nationwide series haha.. (sorry I just like don't like the guy...)

And...it wasn't amazing when Jr, who started on the Pole finished 12...

The race was pretty boring and strung out...

Nascar...really reallyyy needs to do something, The cars are definately safer, but the racing...while not horrible needs to be better...

thoughts?

I'm looking forward the Phoenix..and I hope that Jr. Can FINALLY break his 69 race winless streak.. seriously. >_< I'm tired of the media hounding him about it...

It's Talladega Weekend starting tomorrow!!! 83

I'm so excited I just hope the nasty rain clouds stay away. This is one my favorite races of the year! ^_^

Who do you guys think will win it? Will Hendrick continue their 'Dega domination? Or will Tumbleweed (Kyle Busch) continue to win races (gah I hope not >_<)

Will Jr. FINALLY Break his losing streak after 70 races? (points races) (I hope so)

XD my dad is making a cowboy hat out of Amp cans (he used to make hats out of pop cans as a kid) and if Jr. does win, I'm wearing the hat to school >:3 (yes, I'm a dork and I don't care!!!)
