Scarecrow, i second Fish's recommendations for both Baccano! and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. might i also add a recommendation for Great Teacher Onizuka. an excellent series that brilliantly blends comedy with drama.

should keep me watching stuff for a lil while
(as in different genres mixed, and well random... I know some of these are popular but its the story that matters to me. And I know some ppl are like Naruto sux and Black Cat is stupid but w/e I connect with some of the characters. *shrug* just personal opinion differences..
