Vic Mignogna, a Christian voice actor who has played roles in a great many anime (see wikipedia page for more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vic_Mignogna ) has contacted us about a ministry he's starting.
Vic Mignogna wrote:The Lord laid it on my heart last year to do something to help get the Bible into the hands of all these fans that would never normally read it. So guess what I did... I recorded the entire Gospel of John. Yep, all 21 chapters, and put some characterization into it as well. I even used the Message version so it's very contemporary. Then I composed and played piano under the whole thing to help make it more enjoyable to listen to. I intend to give it away FREE to fans at anime cons. Can you imagine it? We can get them to listen to the Word of God! Who knows what amazing ways God can use this outreach.
Here's where you come in. I need people to financially contribute to having the discs pressed. I am getting contributions from my church, friends, etc and I thought this would be right down CAA's alley.
If you would like to contribute to this project, simply use the "donate" button at the top of the screen. For the entire month of February (edit: and the rest of Janurary), any and all donations we receive will be tallied and we'll make one huge donation. I know many of you have been looking for a way to use CAA as an outreach opportunity, and the staff feel this would be an AWESOME way for us to help make something like this happen. I've done some quick calculations, and if all the active members donated even just 5 dollars (that's what, a single lunch?), we put together over a thousand dollars.
As some of you might remember, Vic Mignogna graced our chat a while back and spent some time answering our questions and just generally hanging out with us. For those of you who want a trip down memory lane, you can check this out:

So what do you say? Can you help?
Edit: If you cannot (or will not) use paypal, please PM me and we'll find something that will work for you. If you just don't have a paypal site they're really easy to setup.
