I spent a long time watching inspector gadget (and at the time there weren't a lot of toys that I recall). I used to run home from church on sunday night to watch that one!

I never had any of the toys from cartoons 8( The only thing I had was a Mario plushy that a carny gave me for free, because I cried :sniffle: I was only like.. 3 or so :sweat: We were at a fair and my mom won a teddy bear. My oldest sister ended up taking it before I could say I wanted it. I then broke down and started crying ^ ^; He felt really bad and gave me the Mario Plushie :) I do recall seeing other stuff from cartoons.

Sorry, kinda got off topic.. more then this already has ^ ^;

I've had a lot of younger kids come up to me and be really excited that a "big kid" watches the shows they do. When I was in elementary school, my friend's little brother and his friends would follow me around on the playground. They would ask me questions about Yugioh and ask to see my Japanese cards (I had the Magician of Black Chaos, Black Chaos Ritual, Dark Magician Girl, and two versions of the Dark Magician). I was pretty much the Yugioh guru there. I was the best duelist, too. ;)

I work with a young autistic boy doing art therapy, and he loves anime. We talk about it all the time, and I bring in examples of characters for him to draw. It's really great.

But I have to admit, I do feel old when I watch some of the old cartoons. I was watching Inspector Gadget with my mom the other day, and it was pure nostalgia. The same thing happens whenever I hear the Sailor Moon theme song(which I can still sing word for word). It's nice, I really like it.

There are just some theme songs that stick to us no matter how old we get.

I WANNA BE, THE VERY BEST. Like no one ever was. Da da da. To catch them is my real test, to train them is my cause. Da da da da. I will travel across the land, searching far and wide. Da da da da. Each Pokemon, to understand, the power that's inside!

So corny now, yet so easy to remember.

Sometimes a theme song is all that we can remember about a series.

There was an 80s show called "the greatest american hero" (or something similar) that fits into the "theme song category."

Ah, yes. The good old cartoons. ^^

I remember My Little Ponies, Care Bears, GummiBears, Tale Spin, Rescue Rangers, all the old Disney and WB cartoon shorts, Super Friends, Captain Planet...
Just out of curiosity, to see how good/bad some of them were, I watched our old VHS tapes of the My Little Pony movie and Care Bears Alice in Wonderland movie a while back. MLP rots the brain - my dad talks about how he still gets twitchy when it's mentioned. :D
The Care Bears Wonderland movie isn't actually all that bad. ^^;

I was rather aghast to find that the Care Bears now on TV are CG.

I remember watching one of the newer Care Bear movies on CN with my niece ^ ^ It was cute, but kinda corny :sweat: It was just to see what it was about :P

Ooh, I just remembered the Rugrats version of Care Bears.. Dummy Bears :lol:

I think that's what they were called :o

Archie was fun.Before Kyosuke had problems deciding between Madoka and
Hikaru Archie had the same sort of problems deciding between Betty and
Veronica.
*Ponders*
I wonder if the creators of Kimagure Orange Road got their inspiration for the Kyosuke/Madoka/Hikaru triangle from the Archie/Betty/Veronica triange?

Of all the above, I think I spent more time watching Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers than any of the others. Some of the rest of them just excite me.

I'm STILL soured on the whole idea of the brain washing that was Captain Planet. :D

The cartoons I grew up watching were both GI Joe shows, Beast Wars nd other Transformers shows, Looney Toons, Rocko's Modern Life, All That, various other shows. I only watched a bit of anime back when I was 5 to 18. Such as Dominion Tank Police, a bit of Robobtech and Transformers G2:P.

My childhood was pretty good due to God despite just being raised by my mother. I'm very thankful to God I made it to my young adult life with his guidance and influence, and having a great mother:).
Some of my favorite scriptures.

Psalm91
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

Hebrews 4-4
1Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

James 4
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

Revelation 22:14
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

True, true. I'm still at a loss about the fifth element of love, though... I always felt sorry for the poor kid, since everyone was always forgetting about his role.

I think besides Gidget on Rescue Rangers, Monterey Jack (with the 'stache) was my favorite, I seem to recall being rather insistent about eating Monterey Jack cheese because it went by the same name... *snerk*

And then SNL came out with the cheesy music featuring the love song, "When loving lovers love." Which I always link by association. *shudders*
