I thought Serenity was...alright. My expectations were probably too high, but it felt pretty unfulfilling to me.

Anyway, the movie does pretty much take place after the series. It's meant to wrap things up since there wasn't a second season.
Care to alaberate on how it made you feel uncomfortable? Sorry to sound nosey i am just new to the show so i would like to know what to be careful of. Do it through PM if you want. If you don't feel comfortable explaining don't worry about it.

A few episodes (or maybe just one at the end) were based pretty much solely on fanservice, with not nearly enough plot to justify their existence. Nothing graphic, that I can remember, but definitely not something you'd want someone else to walk in on.
War Stories has Inara, uh..."servicing" a female. Nothing too graphic (this was aired on TV, after all), but they do kiss once. That's a really good episode though, so I'd advise just skipping over that scene if possible.
I personally like it when they have a main character die
So I thought that was good.
