A Guilt Plagued Man

Postby Takachi » Tue Mar 16, 2004 7:25 pm

Only God be witness to the many a night when the blade of Shame and Depression did stab my heart, that floodgates did break, and the drenched head did lower its gaze that I might cry out to God almighty that He, by His divine power might remove from my weary heart the curse which doth plague me daily.

Sometimes the greatest thing we face as we further our walk with Christ is guilt. God may forgive us but we still feel like we owe too much. However, all sins were washed away with the blood of Christ and he did not die in vain. He loves us and nothing is kept against us if we ask for forgiveness. There is a very good song by Relient K called “Getting Into You” and I really like the lyrics:
I’ve been a liar and I’ll never amount to
the kind of person you deserve to worship you
you say you will not dwell on what I did but rather what I do
you say “I love you and that’s what you are getting yourself into”

Feel free to tell me what you think
And you don't seem to understand
A shame you seemed an honest man
And all the fears you hold so dear
Will turn to whisper in your ear
And you know what they say might hurt you
And you know that it means so much
And you don't even feel a thing

I am falling, I am fading
I have lost it all

You might want to separate poem from commentary. Its kinda confusing to me to know which is which in the context of this thread.
