Which of you Yankees sent all this cold down here?!? It was 32 degrees when I left for class yesterday!! And it's in the 40s now! Where did all the nice fall weather go? My lungs don't like the cold! Take it back!
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

When I saw the topic, I thought something good had happened, such as you getting an 'A' in an exam or finding out you're gonna get something you want for Christmas.

Then I realised the exclamation may not have necessarily been an expression of joy. :)

It's good to have a proper winter again, isn't it? It's -8 degrees here (that's 17 for those still stuck on Farenheit).
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

It was me.

I did it.

...OK, not really. "Ohio" doesn't qualify me as a yankee. But I do have like 5 inches of snow over here.

Hmm, yeah I do remember it was unusually cold yesterday. Ive been wondering why I have this sore throat of mine?*Remembers yesterday running in the cold weather*
It was around 40 to 50 yesterday. Its not even winter yet, and Im thinkin' this is cold. Geez I need to shape up and brace myself, not that we have received snow in quite some years. The lowest it really gets is barely below the 20s. So hey, any of y'all northerners want to send me some snow down here?

It's cold enough for the snow to hold here, and I'm in love with it. I spent all day really wanting to drop into the snow between classes and make a snow angel but knowing I'd hate being wet for the rest of the afternoon. A Minnesotan at heart, the cold is my friend.

we have ICE today O_O oh my gosh I thought I was gonna fall walking to my classes...its so slick!!!! >_<

And it truly sucks that colleges RARELY have snow days. Truly truly truly sucks! >_< I mean I have to drive a distance to get here... and it can get really dangerous!

Like last year, a friend and I had to drive here on one of the worst days of the year. We had to 25 on the HIGHWAY... and as we were getting ready to go on a bipass, a car suddenly did like 5 360s and almost HIT US! D8

it was ironic, as we were also attending a funearl that day.

But yeah stupid college didn't call classes off.

Apparently they want to kill all the potential working class people because of the inclement weather.

The snow must have deliberately gone around your area, just a huge arc around it. How can it snow in the north and in the middle of the state and not in your area?

I live in southern Virginia, about 20 minutes from the North Carolina border (and about 45 minutes from Roxboro). We have two rivers on either side of us, and mountains a bit to the west. The geographical setup of where I live does two things well. One, it traps in heat. Two, it greatly reduces the number of clouds that reach us.

So yeah, clouds usually don't reach us, and even if they do, the trapped heat usually causes it to be too warm to snow. It sucks so bad. -.-
