My brother

Postby Inferno » Thu Mar 11, 2004 10:10 am

Hello everyone, I have a prayer request. My brother is dyslexic. If you don't already know what that means, learning is alot harder and fusstraiting for him. He is 7 years old and he barly know his ABCs. I try to help teach him. I somtimes get upset with him, and fustraited. So could you pray for patience in my heart, and that he would learn more and more. thank you and see ya round the forums.:thumb:

I'll be praying for the two of you. You may already know it but never hurts to repeat, make sure he knows that you believe in him and encourage him. Knowing that at least one person you look up to has faith in you makes all the differance
"Tell me not, in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
and things are not what they seem.
Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou art; to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul."

I'm praying.
Foresight and Hindsight

Showed me two different streets.

The first showed me fame and fortune,

The second wishes to change my defeats.

I will most certainly pray for your brother and you!

Remember, the road may be hard but in the end he will succeed, and will be better for it. You just have to find the correct way of teaching him - everyone learns differently... Sometimes some people harder than others. :thumb:

Actually, my teacher/advisor at college is dyslexic, and she is one of the smartest people I know (and she's definitely the best teacher I've ever had). So God can do great things even we can't see it. I'll remember him and you in prayer.

I know where you're coming from. As part of my ministry at seminary I tutor kids at the local shelter. Many of them have learning disabilities and it can be very frustrating for me sometimes, especially since I'm not very good at dealing with kids in the first place (something I really need to work on if I'm going to be a pastor). Please pray for me as well.
