What are you having for Thanksgiving?

Talk about anything in here.

What are you having for Thanksgiving?

Postby Gabriel 9.0 » Sun Nov 18, 2007 12:37 am

I saw somebody make a thread like this at another forum I go to

I'll start.

This what I'll be having on Thanksgiving:

Grilled Chicken and turkey wings
Mashed potatoes.
Greens
cranberries
Other fruit
Various drinks like soda and punch
German Chocolate cake
Sweet Potato Pie
Pumpkin Pie
Cherry Pie
Salad
Some of my favorite scriptures.

Psalm91
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

Hebrews 4-4
1Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

James 4
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

Revelation 22:14
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

You know those TV dinners with the three strips of turkey and some mashed potatos in them? The ones that are usually frozen and contain 1000 percent of the sodium you need in a day?

Yeah. That's my dinner. I'm all alone this Thanksgiving. =[

I was gonna invite you over for Thanksgiving dinner, but I don't know anymore . . .

As for me, I'll be working Thanksgiving. But they'll have a free meal in the cafeteria so it won't be so bad. After work I'll have a proper dinner with some old friends of the family. There's usually a lot of people for that one and really good food.

Usual fare:

Turkey
Cranberry sauce
Mini pumpkin pies (that my mom made today ^.^)
Mashed Potatoes

and perhaps some other things I don't know of yet. I'm just thankful that I don't have to go to campus on Wednesday...two of my classes got cancelled and my teacher in the other class is answering questions that day. She doesn't expect many people to show up. This means I can go to Mass more this week. ^_^

We always have so many people involved in Thanksgiving, most of whom bring things, that I can never guess what all we'll have until right before we finally eat.

XDD. And that would be cannibalism.

I'll be having Kashi cereal and soy milk with the level of preparations going on in our house *ehem*. By the way, Kashi cereal tastes like hamster feed.

After all these years of knowing Temulin, you're asking that question XD? Wait--I think she was referring to Debitt's Thanksgiving list.

Ok, this is what we're having:

Turkey (can't eat it)
Fish (eating it)
Uh....
Pumpkin Pie (eating it)
Other things that haven't been bought yet....

Late posting, because I'm the chef in my house and I WAS TOO BUSY COOKING!!!

Ahem... anyhow...

Brined, Deep-fried Turkey - A specialty of mine, actually.
Giblet Gravy
Mashed Potatoes
Corn, Pea and Pearl Onion Succotash
Parker House Rolls with Hidden Sausages
Spaghetti - This may sound weird, but my wife is Filipino, and Filipinos always have spaghetti at special occasions, don't know why.
Cranberry Chutney
Pumpkin Pie
Pecan Pie
Fudge Brownies
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May He cause His face to shine upon you.
May He lift up His countenance and grant you peace.
