Nightmares or Dreams

Talk about anything in here.

Dreams are totally interesting!!!

hmmm....well....when I was in High School i had a dream where there was a wall of fire and I was trying to escape from it. And I was in a car with some other people and we stopped at our house to grab some things and I remember being in the bathroom and looking in the mirror and having a stranger's face reflected there.

then, a long time ago I also had a dream where I was watching a lady in a flowing blue nightgown rocking a baby and singing softly. The room was dark and the only light was from outside a single window that was open. And there was a breeze blowing the curtains softly. And it was so peaceful and tranquil.

I also used to have a recurring nightmare where I was sleeping and someone was calling to me, but I couldn't open my eyes or even move. When I would wake up I would still feel this heaviness in my body...it was very disconcerting...

recently I had a dream...or maybe you could call it a nightmare, where I dreamed I got up, got ready for work and worked a full day. 0_o

Last night, I dreamed that I was in my room and I felt an overwhelming sense of unease. When I looked around the room I saw a green parakeet with red eyes sitting on my bookshelf and I was frightened of it. I said, "Go away!" and my throat constricted and I couldn't speak. And the bird flew at me and disappeared. and I felt a strange coldness sweep over me. I turned and looked around the room and then back at the bookshelf and the bird was there again, staring at me. I tried to tell it to leave in the name of God but again my throat constricted and it flew at me. I then began to recite the Lord's Prayer, starting out loud and then in my head...and the bird kept rushing me....and I kept feeling cold and frightened....and then I woke up....
I thought that was the weirdest dream...

..ok...I have a weird dream...well dream experience that I'd like some opinions on. Ok, this has been happenening more and more, but it seems whenever I have a romantic type dream, my mind gets very conflicted and confused as to whether I'm a boy or a girl in my dream. Like, in my dream I'll think "I'm glad I'm a guy and she's mine" and then my mind will be " wait...I'm a girl...no...wait...yes...no." and then my world starts to go blurry until my mind determines what I am. This is getting annoying cause in my mind I'm always a guy first...then I become a girl. any thoughts?

Like when I went camping with Doe Johnson. I dreamed the night before that we would get into a car accident on our way there.

Well we stopped at a town 3 hours from her house to eat at Denny's and when we leave, we did get into an accident when a 17 year old girl hit us on the driver's side. Thankfully it was a little different from my dream...where we were involved in a head on collision...but still that was really freaky. O_o

Something I found:

Prophetic dreams, also referred to as precognitive or psychic dreams, are dreams that seemingly foretell the future.

One rational theory to explain this phenomenon is that our dreaming mind is able to piece together bits of information and observation that we normally overlook or that we do not seriously consider.

In other words, our unconscious mind knows what is coming before we consciously piece together the same information.

Hope this helps. :)

Freaky dream..from what I was told by my wife. She said that last night I woke her up asking "are you asleep?" to which she said that she answered "not now I'm not", then she said that I asked her, "do you know if that site has free shipping?" to which she replied "I'm not turning on the computer to check", and if I my throat was still a little sore. Now this is the freaky part, she said that I said "I'm ok, it's ok. She said that I cleared my throat and then silence. I have absolutely no idea what she was talking about at all.
Bless me indeed

lol! my husband did that to me. He had just finished playing hours of FFXI, and had gone to bed. I stayed up reading, but then I started to get a really bad leg cramp. I woke him up and asked him what I should do about it. his reply?
"drop all your items, stand in the corner and join another party. Cause that's what i'd do."
me: :eyebrow: ok....thanks...I'll...erm...do that. *just continues to rub leg*
in the morning i asked him about it and he didn't remember a thing. Too much FFXI anyone?:dizzy:

[color="RoyalBlue"]Wow, what interesting dreams we have! ^^
I think the weird/cool thing about my nightmares, is how I say the name of Jesus in the dream when it starts to get scary. What is even more cool is that within seconds I wake from the dream! It's awesome to know that that precious name has that kind of power even in my sleep. ^^
That's why I try to remember to pray in Jesus name before I go to sleep, when I do I have a peaceful night.
Beloved In Grace,

IMPORTANT! MUST READ!

Tonight I went to a prayer meeting. I had never been there before, and the topic was dreams. I was thrilled. But then the speaker told the group (about 15 people) that when a person refers to fortune-tellers, psychics, and occult dream interpretors for dream interpretations, that they are pushing God out of the picture because He will use Godly people to interpret our dreams.

I do know Christ as my personal Lord, but I do not belive that God gave me the gift of interpretation. I did tell you guys that I find my information from random websites, in fact, I refer to these interpretations personally. But the message at that meeting was a slap to the back of my head. I wanted to let you guys know this right away.

I'm so sorry if the information that I dug up was misleading; and I thank God for opening my eyes tonight. I hope you all understand. I would also like to hear what you think about this.

Ok. this is my opinion. Dreams are a way of our minds shiftinf around information from the day, or things that we have piled into it. Now, if you took a dream and tried to predict it's meaning to say, guide your life or tell the future, then that's where it is wrong. However, I believe it is not wrong to look at a dream (espeically recurring dreams) and see if there is something they are trying to tell you about yourself. I know that when i was going through a very rough spiritual time, I had many recurring dreams that when i prayed and researched, determined that the dreams were showing me how I was running away from God.

As to this thread and your comments, I don't believe that you started this thread as a way to predict things or use it in any sinful way. I believe that you started it for a discusion topic and a chance to see what others dream about. I really havn't heard any realy real interpretations, such as what Joseph did(that was Joseph...with pharaoh dream stuff...right?). Just general discussion.

Agreed.

I would like to take this opportunity to ask if anyone does feel led by God to interperate dreams, to take advantage of your gifts through this thread. Many important dreams have been posted here and I wish that I had an answer for everyone.

I'm going to that meeting again tonight, although this time it's more of a music and prayer deal, but I'll see if I can get more information.

In the Bible, 2 Timothy 1:7, it says that "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind." During nightmares we feel fearful, lost, confused, or powerless. I believe that nightmares come from the enemy because the Bible also says in John 10:10 that "The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy." Nightmares steal our peace, kill our joy, and destroy our comfort.

So my advice to those of you who have nightmares, myself included, pray to God to remove everything from your life that would cause you to have nightmares.

I have more to say but dinner is waiting. . . ^^

I had a dream this morning that made me feel so tired I didn't know if I was going to get out of bed.
It had something to do with my job and something to do with a items needed for a repair.
It had something to do with a vendor that is not around anymore and parts they supplied to us.
I was trying to think of the name of the vendor and when it came up I couldn't get it out of my head.
I woke up looked at the time and went back to sleep and the dream started again up to the time the alarm went off a few times and then I laid there saying to myself "I am too tired to go to work" Well I forced myself up and the dream stuck in my head.

I remember a dream/slash nightmare I had a while back.

I was in the car with my parents and aunt. I was sitting in the back seat with my aunt on the back driver's side. We were driving on the turnpike (my dad was driving). We were going so fast. My aunt was telling my dad to slow down. We were about to run into a truck, but we swerved and went off the edge into the water. We were all screaming with our eyes shut tightly. I remember praying to God to spare my parents and aunt and take me O__O The scene goes black and fades into another scene. I was at home (my home in the dream but not my home irl) sitting on the couch. My mom was sitting next to me and my dad was showing me a picture,"This was you when you were little... " I think I had amnesia from a result of the accident. We fell off the turnpike into water O__O

The me in the dream didn't remember, but the me watching the dream did, but it wasn't a picture from real life o.o

 LOL I laughed at this for a full 5 minutes!!! My leg usually shoots straight up when I get a Charlie Horse, and I get out of bed and stand straight up as quickly as I can, if I'm not crying my head off in pain.

Recently, I had a dream that my mother died. And then some weird guys stole her body and re-animated it. She became a raving zombie thing and attacked me. I won't go into detail about the things Zombie Mom did to me in the dream, because I don't want to freak anybody out. Anyway, it scared the crap out of me.

'Suite Life of Zack and Cody', anyone?

Well, I haven't had any nightmares recently (i.e. in the past 3 months), but I had them all the time when I was a young kid. This one is from when I was either in Kindergarten or First Grade.

I was a teenager (go figure) and I was carrying groceries down the streets of New York (which is weird, since I've never bee to NY let alone a big city)
Nobody was there. All the cars were abandoned. Everything had a gray tinge to it (like a Tim Burton movie).

I heard something behind me, turned around, and there were three ghosts. Not the cutesy ghosts in cartoons, but human-like ghosts. One had a baseball bat, one had a saw, and one had a butcher knife.
I dropped the bags of groceries and ran away from them. They chased after me down an alleyway.
The butcher knife-ghost held me up against a wall, and I woke up sobbing and almost convulsing. Fell back asleep. Had another dream that I was being chased by a purple monkey.:eyeroll:

The only reason I remember this is that it traumatized me...and gave me an obsession with the paranormal...that I still have today...go figure.

THEN there was the Chucky doll dream. And the PeeWee nightmare. And the "Being-Chased-By-Wolves" dream.
