Salute to Veterans Past and Present

Postby mitsuki lover » Sun Nov 11, 2007 11:57 am

It's Veteran's Day again and so let us take this time to salute all those who fought in America's Wars in the past and in the present.Let us remember those who gave their lives for American freedoms around the world.
Let freedom ring from sea to shining sea and let the blood that was spilled for us to enjoy those freedoms not be forgot.Amen.:thumb:

A lot of my family served the United States in the Armed Forces SF and regular. I salute them and every other member past/present and future:). May God Bless them all for their bravery, honor and sacrifice and duty.
Some of my favorite scriptures.

Psalm91
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

Hebrews 4-4
1Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

James 4
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

Revelation 22:14
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Rememberance Day here in Canada and Great Britain.

The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

(The End of Education)

Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge

I took these on Memorial Day of this year, but I think they are just as fitting for Veterans Day also.

Just wanted to say something.....I really don't know alot of those who have served or are serving our military, cept for my grandpa's, neithter or whom were in any action (at least not from what I've heard from them)....but none the less, they still answered the call.

I really don't know what I'm trying to say here, but I really hope that we as the next generation will be able to show those who have fought (and that are fighting) that their sacrifices were worth it; that we whom they have fought and are fighting for will be able to, with cincerity, say, "Thank you" not only through our words but through our lives......

....That they did not die for a generation that cares only about themselves, but for a generation who is ready to stand for what is right......Which do you want to be apart of?........

I want to salute and give a big thanks to all those who have served in the military. My dad being a Vietnam veteran, I am honored to have him as a dad, although I don't particurally agreee with war, but yeah....
