Anime USA?

Postby Blitzkrieg1701 » Sun Sep 23, 2007 12:06 pm

I was just wondering who (if any) of the CAA crew was planning on attending Anime USA in Arlington, Virginia, November 16-18. It'll be my first convention other than Animazement, and I was curious who I might find up there! :)

Well, I'll have to talk it over with the rest of my caravan, but that's probably going to be a TAD off our route :)

...so, am I really the only one? I could have sworn I heard at least one or two other denizens of CAA mention they were planning on going. Guess I'm crazier than I though.

Awww, nuts. Ah well. I would ride out there to join you but I kinda have two reasons:

1. Ackie-Chan is only at 90%. I would HATE to breakdown just outside of Louisiana!

2. AT&T wouldn't like it very much if I abandoned my post. And as I've said countless times, employment rocks.

I will be there. Have been to the previous two. Nice, small convention, although as I recall it is a little larger than Animazement.

I believe I'm going as well. I just have to buy the registration fee and find transportation. (sorry if I don't reply to this for a while - I'm working overtime).

Oh dear, two replies in a row...

Well, I've been thinking about something: what if we had us a little prayer time/Bible study on Sunday morning? It wouldn't be anything fancy, probably just a couple minutes, but I think it could be really cool. Anyone interested? (or, should I say, anyone still going to be there AND awake by Sunday morning? ;) )

I've finally registered and I'll soon get a bus or train ticket to DC. I'm interested in a Sunday Bible study, though I've only been in one with over twenty people, so I may seem a little akward if its just two or three of us.

Well, I've already got 3 or 4 friends I'm traveling out with who'd probably be up for it, but I'm not talking about a big service or anything anyway. And besides, "wherever two or more are gathered..." :)

Actually, that'd probably be a really BAD idea, since I've got some cosplay projects in the works. As soon as I've got a better idea of what will actually be finished in time, I'll post what I'll be wearing and when :)

*bump*

Oops, I forgot to actually list anything. Well, I'm gonna be jumping in and out of quite a few costumes, none of which look anything like my self-portrait over there. So, if you wanna track me down, here's what to look for and when:

Friday Afternoon: Urahara from Bleach (assuming we get there in time for me to wear it)
Friday Evening: Joshua from Chrono Crusade
Saturday Morning/Afternoon: Irvine from Final Fantasy XIII
Saturday Evening: James from Pokemon
Sunday: Urahara from Bleach again

... at least, I THINK that's how it'll go. If you see more than one of any of these and aren't sure if it's me, I'll be the guy wearing very out-of-character glasses.

As for prayer on Sunday morning, I'd imagine we'd want to get together around 9 or 10 am (any earlier and we'll be even more zombie-like than usual). Having never been to AUSA before, I have no idea where we'll want to gather. All the more reason to track me down!

James? Aw nuts, that one's cool. Please post some pics if you can!

Unfortunately, I can't go; I've got school, and I don't think my parents would appreciate me leaving to go to Arlington alone.

And I couldn't take my brother with me either.

Great job, though! The hair rocks! Obvious question: where's Jessie?;)

Dude, don't you think if I HAD a Jessie, she'd be in the picture?

But yeah, sorry I won't be seeing all ya'll. Clearly, we need to work on this in the future. :)

One note to the folks who ARE going: Swap the Irvine and Urahara costumes on my schedule. My other Final Fantasy VIII cosplaying friend will be doing hers on Friday, so it'd be kind of stupid for me to wait until Saturday.

Looking good. BTW it's almost a definite that I'm going. I just need to see if I need a one way or round trip ticket (depending on whether my mom or brother can give me a ride back from DC).

ilikegir33 would you like someone to take a massive amount of pictures at AUSA? I could do that if you'd like.

Does anyone know if there is pre-registration on Thursday night? I'd like to pick up my con badge a day early if possible.
