Those of you who once knew me, don't ever think again, even for a second, that you STILL know me.

Because of time I have learned to adapt, and those emotions which I once had clouding me are subsiding.

With age comes experience and wisdom. These two factors join together and become maturity. Those who will adapt shall eventually answer the simple question of life's meaning and purpose.

I was called a near-genius once, but I am no better than you. But do YOU have the will, the heart, and the truth to become better than I?

Humanity is a flawed species, full of sin and corruption. I am no different, I am sinful, yet I KNOW this and I know when I am wrong.

Scan people, learn them, know them, learn who you are. Become a catalyst for them and allow them to be yours. We are here to learn, so why do we not?

I do not ask that you listen, I do not expect you to listen. If you do, I will talk, if not I will be silent.

Acceptance is not worth stress. Don't ever rely on others unless they give and take what you need.

And sometimes we need a mate to give us our needs. Sometimes we need a mate to take from us what must be taken. Life can never be one-sided or else it will be unbalanced. Those who settle with less will likely be less happy than those who TAKE the very best.

But sometimes life gives you lemons... other times it gives you gold and jewels. And sometimes that silver which you get is tarnished and the jewels are uncut. Only God can remove the blemish and shape the diamond. That doesn't mean you are not the catalyst. Wisdom says when you are and when to back off.

I prayed for wisdom. What I got is for you to tell me.

Love, happiness, success. All require wisdom, heart, and will.

I asked wisdom for her name and she gave me the letters. Every time I did something good, she petted me and called me good, giving me another letter.

I ignored my heart, and then it screamed, crying as others hurt it and I tried to pull it from my chest. She was my catalyst and continues even now. I needed a lover to show me how to feel.

I lacked the will and began to stagnate. I turned myself off, I ceased my thought. But she woke me, not my lover but another, a friend, another catalyst. She sparked me, she made me thirsty, made my unblinking eyes close for a moment. She sparked my curiosity.

Now I'm starting to see what and who I am, and though I've been more distant from God as of late than one should be, I owe it all to him, everyone and everything around me is a catalyst and nothing more.

No, this is not the prayer forum, however prayer backing in my goals would certainly be appreciated.

o.0 Mmm... I'm not entirely sure what to make of this rather... um... narcissistic haiku, but I'll keep you in my prayers.

As someone who struggles with shutting up my own moronic voice and what the world considers "wisdom" so that I can hear God's will in my life and hope that He will fill me with His wisdom, I can say one thing for fact - the only place you will find true wisdom is in God.

It sounds to me from a few things you've said in the past that you're searching a bit, or even trying to enduce a sense of a spiritual experience. If this is the case - stop. Take a step back, surrender to God, be still and listen to Him. (If I'm wrong on this, I appologize and I don't mean to sound preachy, but I'm just being frank with my impressions here). You need to realize that what you're searching for is not going to be found within yourself, within someone else, within a girlfriend, or within a state of emotional high or facade of Yoda-esque mystery.

From a relationship standpoint "needing a mate to fulfill our needs" is a verrrry bad mindset to enter into any relationship with and usually ends badly for both parties because you have the mentality of expecting your gf/bf to fulfill an insecurity or need in your life - using them like a crutch. When that doesn't happen, you come back to the same disatisfied state - or worse, try to create that satisfaction through lust/impurity. Just so you know this isn't all coming out of the twisted mind of Temulin, something I heard from a pastor I respected was that all marital problems stem from not being secure in your relationship with God. If you are looking for "a mate to give us our needs" your needs will NOT be met. However, if you are secure in your individual indentity as a child of God, knowing full well that GOD is meeting ALL your needs, you can share that with someone if you choose to and develop a healthy relationship with God as the head of any relationship as He should be.

You have a catalyst. A catalyst who took your rightful place out of pure love for people who have done nothing by intelligent merit (intelligence is a joke to God) or righteous works to deserve such love, became your sin, and endured the physical and spiritual torture of God's wrath upon us ultimately reconciling us to God. That catalyst's name was Jesus. His work was accomplished in 33 A.D., and as God "shapes a diamond" so He is shaping all those who believe on Him for their final redemption as a new creation.

Bottom line: The key to wisdom? Realizing it has nothing to do with you, your girlfriend, your intelligence, the latest FF plotline you borrowed this idea off of, or eliteness and everything to do with God. Everything is for the glory of God. The more human effort we make to attain Godly wisdom through actions or feelings created on our part, the farther we are from it. The Bible tells us that the meek will be great, and the humble exalted. I know this is something I sure as heck struggle with, but that doesn't mean I don't believe every word of it. The Bible tells us "be as little children." Well, how do children act? They're completely dependent on their parents. They rarely seek wisdom outside of what their parent tells them.

God does not need you, but He chose you out of mercy and love to serve Him and He may give you things like wisdom as tool to glorify Him. However, if you are looking at it as something "cool" or likely to gain you respect and "oooh's" and "ah's" at your geniusyness - get ready to be disapointed.

I'm sorry if I sound mean/harsh, Taki, but from one Christian to another that's what I've come to understand. (And mods, if this sounded too debatey/jerky, feel free to take it down). My advice is to spend some private time with God whenever you can just praying, reading bits of scripture, and talking to Him. I'll be praying for you too, and feel free to PM me anytime or if you want to talk about anything I said in the thread.

Ahhhhahahaha... yes. Temmy, saying you have a "twisted mind" to me is like saying that... okay I have no analogy here. But let's just say that out of ALL of the people here, I trust and listen to you the very most.

First off, Jesus was not a catalyst, saying such is underestimating him. He's the one who gave us the chance to escape death. He's a savior. [[EDIT: Okay so that's STILL a form of catalyst but one still needs others.]]

A catalyst is a chemical or energy (or other factor) which speeds up change.

You see, I don't rely on my mate to get me through life, that's foolish. But I've seen enough of my pain disappear to know that she's been one of the most powerful catalytic factors in my life.

"Humans are social creatures. There are those who may not need others to survive, but to grow, a person needs others."

Yes, I owe everything to God. EVERYTHING. This will never change.

And Temmy, to be honest... you... might wanna watch your wording. I'm told there are non-Christians here and I don't think we want people going around believing ignorance is bliss. I don't think God laughs at knowledge, but he DOES want us to have his rather than that of others.

I am extremely logical and calculating according to a set equation of rules which I have meditated for years now. No, I don't have enough Christian friends that are close to me, but it's hard to find someone nowadays who's both a good, constructive friend AND willing to get somewhere I can talk to them a lot.

the only CAA friends I have don't talk to me, so I hang out with a lower, more chaotic people who WILL talk. I'm not complaining yet, but this is how I am.

Also, I go back to my Human Society theory.

"Humans are social creatures, and as such need others to grow."

I leave it up to God to guide where my mind goes.

No, I have no... motivation to read the Bible.

This is because I dislike reading text to learn VERY much. I REQUIRE interaction and it's the same problem I've always had with my studies.

I NEED someone to help me and be an interface, support, and catalyst. Otherwise I get bored and distracted.

And the first person to say find someone to help you is gonna get a thirty minute LECTURE on how I have NO ONE here TO help me. X_X NO JOKE PEOPLE!!!

Maybe if there was someone here... I could do it. But I was never meant to go it alone.. or among many others. I know that now.

Ohhhh and... by the way... the crowd I'm in is a mere temporary substitute. Once I finally find the right thing, those who aren't "chosen" for my new life are GONE.

I'd say that's a problem. The Bible is truth, and humans are flawed beings. Therefore having "social interaction" to learn about God can be dastardly because you could be learning something totally wrong.

So this "lack of motivation" to read the Bible is totally stupid. Just go read it and learn. It's not hard, really. I think you're just being lazy. If you hate reading text to learn then you might as well just drop out of Highschool and never go to College.

Impressive merriam-webster tech definition skills. Truly. But in a poetic/literary sense a catalyst can also mean a medium, vehicle, channel, or sacrificial (see sacrificial catalyst in science too) go-between.

I never said that was ALL Jesus was. The ancient Jews had what –] You see, I don't rely on my mate to get me through life, that's foolish. But I've seen enough of my pain disappear to know that she's been one of the most powerful catalytic factors in my life.

"Humans are social creatures. There are those who may not need others to survive, but to grow, a person needs others."[/quote]

Speakeh da English language and cut the haiku parables or sell them off to a Shinto shrine – no one is impressed. Your girlfriend has been a good friend/supporter in your life. Yeah. We all need friends, as humans we get lonely, and God wants us to be happy and spread His love to all the people we meet, ect. I see nothing particularly spiritual about this. Moving on.

takuya wrote: And Temmy, to be honest... you... might wanna watch your wording. I'm told there are non-Christians here and I don't think we want people going around believing ignorance is bliss. I don't think God laughs at knowledge, but he DOES want us to have his rather than that of others.

Lovely psuedo pysch... can’t wait till I get more of this in college. :eyeroll: Yep, life is good when ya got your friends, but oh wait half the people in the Bible lived in solitude dressed in animal skins and eating locusts for years and they still did just fine? Ooops. Look I’m not saying go meditate on a rock somewhere – friends are a great help, but they will not change anything in your life. You replied that you defined a catalyst a component that speeds change – the only one who will change the things going on in your life is God and He will do it in His own time.

The whole “needing a girlfriend to have balance in life” is pure crap that you more than likely picked from wicca. The point of dating? A Godly marriage. The point of marriage and most everything else? To glorify God. Does this mean it’s essential to hook up so you can maintain some kind of balance of ying and yang? No. Here’s what Paul said on it:
“Yet I wish that all men were even as I myself am [single] However, each man has his own gift from God, one in this manner, and another in that.
But I say to the unmarried and to widows that it is good for them if they remain even as I.
But if they do not have self-control, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.”

Bottom line: If God is leading you to marry/date – fine. If not – still fine. But it needs to start with God or your life is just going to be all over the place.

takuya wrote: I leave it up to God to guide where my mind goes.

takuya wrote:This is because I dislike reading text to learn VERY much. I REQUIRE interaction and it's the same problem I've always had with my studies.

Talk to God as you read, pray to Him. The Bible is the living word, it's not a one-way dead book. You can't go in to it trying to get a spiritual kick and you may not get one per se, but if you want to know God about Him in His word.

If you want to read along with someone, I'd be more than happy to go through a chapter or whatever once a week or so and talk it about over PM. Think of it as an open discussion or a Bible study. I'm not claiming to have any divine interpretation or great insight to add, but sometimes reading with someone can help. But you'd have to get any idea of a catalyst out of your head right now, because you won't find that in me or anyone else except God.

But if we're back to the point of this interchange being chatting then it's best if I just stop right here. The purpose of my proposal was not to debate what form of online chat you prefer, and I'm certainly not going to go sign up for YIM to cater to that. CAA chat is always open if you want a faster mode of communication and I do occassionally frequent it. If not, PM's/E-mail. Sorry.

Wow...just wow. USSRgirl....Temmy is it? Very well handled. After reading the first post of this thread I had many of the observations you did, but you seemed more eloquent in spelling it outthen I would have done.

Ya know it seems like recently I have encountered many people here who really have a firm grasp on God's reality and I compliment them as much as possible......almost makes me want to be less of a lurker and more into the community. This place is full of amazing christians.

...but to keep on topic

Takuya wrote:EDIT: Oh... and the "haiku" crap is just how I speak sometimes... it's more for my own personal enjoyment rather than to impress anyone.

Hello Takuya:

Is this a haiku of some sort or is this an actual discussion type of post?

How much ppl know you greatly depends on how much you wish to let ppl know you and how you generally present yourselves to others. Let yourself be vague and ppl will have all sort of question marks about you leading to ---> 1) ppl don't bother to get to know you because it takes a lot more effort 2) ppl conclude that you really don't know what you're talking OR 3) ppl get curious and initiate conversation. #3 is nice but just be prepared for #1 and #2 to happen the most often (~90%?). If you're fine with that, then I shall merrily go my way.

Most things that you've mentioned comes from God - maturity, security, wisdom, meaning to life, self-acceptance, recognition, a better understanding of love, strength, identity and many more. Indeed, it's better to seek that from God rather than seeking that through ppl because it's more of a spiritual issue, in which God knows best. God uses ppl around us to channel those to us.....He also uses you and I to channel that back to others. Give and take: You're right - I'll just add that it's most ideal to surrender those transactions to God who knows the best in the economy of spiritual blessings.

So you essentially need each other but you don't completely rely on each other. Keep God in the triangle (on top!) and we'll find balance in all our relationships with other ppl. Hope that makes sense to a certain degree.

I don't quite understand the catalyst part since it reminds me of my chemistry lab classes. XD Exactly what process are you trying to speed up? It's also a little hard to imagine Jesus as a catalyst. You know what a catalyst is, right?

- I leave it up to God to guide where my mind goes.
- This is because I dislike reading text to learn VERY much. I REQUIRE interaction and it's the same problem I've always had with my studies.
Dear Takuya, this is a contradiction. You said you'll leave God to guide your mind but what if God's way of guiding you is through the Bible? God had the Bible written for a reason so we should use it to its fullest. If you don't read the Bible, you've basically decided that God can ONLY speak to you through some other means, as if you have the authority to give permission on how God should speak to you. It's OK and relatively harmless to control how much ppl know you but to control how God speaks to you is rather .....tragic?

Similarly, if you want to gain knowledge and some wisdom through your studies, you have to be open to all sorts of learning methods including the most traditional, which is reading.

Another way to look at this: If you know how to read text, consider yourself blessed. There are many ppl in this world who don't know how to read and would love to learn how to read. Imagine how scary it would be if God took away our reading ability because we took that skill for granted.

So, in essence, you enjoy wasting people's time by purposely speaking cryptically rather than just saying what you mean? No offense, but that's not what I'd call very considerate.
