Is the Naruto OVA Okay for my Little Brother?

Postby ranma8 » Sun Sep 23, 2007 6:11 pm

My ten-year-old brother is a huge fan of Naruto. (he's even looking for a Naruto costume for halloween) I was thinking of surprising him by buying the Naruto OVA for him, but since it's an OVA I was wondering if the content might be worse than the TV series. Is the OVA any worse than the dubbed TV series?

The Naruto DVD's I've seen (checked out from library) are basically the same thing you see on TV, so it should be safe!

(Which one are you talking about? There's dozens of them, literally, though I'm not sure which ones have been released in the U.S. Are you talking about the Hidden Waterfall one? That was no worse than the series, so if he watches the TV Show he should be fine with that.)

Yeah, the Waterfall one is totally appropriate. So is the movie, arguably.

Thanks! Sorry, I forgot to mention that it is the Hidden Waterfall OVA. So, some of the other OVAs aren't appropriate? Now I'm curious.XD

(All of the one's I've seen are okay. That would be ~ Hidden Waterfall, the first three movies, Sports Festival, Search for the Red Clover, and that one that came with the PS2 game or something.)

I think the second movie (the castle one with Gaara in the movie) is worse in terms of death because Gaara uses his sand crushing technique. It probably also mentions a false god. You should probably watch it before letting your brother watch it.
Have faith
-From somewhere in the Bible, and I agree with it

-God will only give you what you can take. He will not overwhelm you.
-From somewhere in the Bible

-Your faith becomes stronger when it's tested.
-I saw a Chinese guy with a cross on his restaurant desk in America. That's so cool. You can do that here. Not so much China.

I've recently been learning that I don't need to be "loud and pushy" to Evangelize; just living it out is enough witness. The problem was that I grew up around strong Evangelists (Korean Christians) and they were really into getting people involved and setting out to Evangelize, and me being a a yes-man (or yes woman) I was into trying to convert people.
I've been learning this lesson over the years, but have been trying to be pushy. Now I'm trying to ease off.

(Only the second movie isn't even licensed yet. But regardless - he also uses it quite frequently in the show. The movies really aren't any different, aside from it being a movie instead of an episode.)
