Talk about anything in here.

Which is a problem.

Okay, this is the thing. I call them 'anime hero' jackets and I've wanted one forever. They're those short-cropped...uh...jackets. Like this:

Except obviously without all the plastic armoring or whatever. It seems like every anime/scifi/action hero out there wears one.

So, do any fashion gurus know what the heck those or called and where I can get one?

My guess is "half jacket", because it's not as long as a whole one.

I'd just call it a cropped jacket, really. Don't know if they even make them for guys, though.

Oh. I thought you meant the arm piece, at first.

The usual style is called Bolero jackets, but they really only make them for women.

I suppose if you were sufficiently talented with scissors/sewing (and had an old jacket lying around) you could try and make one. I can't think of how to go about doing sew, I mean, so, though.

If it's only for women, does that make 90% of anime heroes gay? :p

You could try to make it a new fashion trend.

Course, people might start calling you "gay" for some time.

They're cool and all, but their main problem is that they look a little odd if you wear them with your Magnum revolver in a shoulder holster. However, with the right rig, it would look neat.

: : resolves to try that : :

Yeah, as far as American styles, it's only for women. Who knows, guys in Japan might wear jackets like that all the time, lol. I mean, it's like how some guys in anime have cropped shirts... XD

Style is so different between countries.

I, personally, think it's pretty neat...

Not that I really had anything to add to this thread, sorry!

Gotta say, just casually flipping through the Fruits books at work I only saw maybe one... Maaaaybe two guys wearing it. I don't think its even a fashion trend in Japan.

It's a lot easier to pull that off with animation than with real bodies.
