Yeesh, just because they called him one of the less-liked Pokemon? Talk about a sensitive child... It may not have been right to be calling anyone names to begin with, but learn how to shrug it off. Kids are kids and kids will be mean, it's a factoid of life.

This isn't funny! People could've died, and I know how it was to be picked on as a kid, it happned to me all the time, its tortue, and no matter how meanless the insults sound, it could have some sort of other meaning that we wouldn't know about. No, I don't justify what he did at all, but I have to say, both sides are at fault.

Here's a list of names I got called during my childhood:

- Buttchin (I have a dimple in my chin)

- Lizard lips (Alaskan weather is harsh... -.- )

- Bird legs (tall'n'skinny)

- Ugly

Those are a lot harsher than a Pokemon name and you don't see me running around with my swords. :eyeroll:

Well, it would have been kind of impressive if he actually managed to do some damage with the sword.

I can imagine it now. The kid comes in with the sword and just as he is about to decapitate one of his tormentors, his blow is stopped by another. Who is this swordsman who comes to the rescue? None other than Kenshin's great-great grandson!

Ok, so Kenshin isn't a real person and thus wouldn't have descendants, but still...it would be a fitting climax to a dispute based on anime.

Lol...there'll be some stuff about this on sites like CCM. I mean...I can see it..."Boy tried to kill over a Pokemon fight. POKEMON IS EVIL! EEEVVIILLLL!!!" Meh...that was a stupid thing to do. Sheesh...he could've tried a tanto or a wakizashi, but a katana? Well, they said "sword" so I dunno...some people will call a butcher knife a sword. Sure, it might work just as well as one, but it is NOT a sword. That sounds like something someone would say I would do...due to the fact that I have many swords, and know how to fight relatively well with them. I like the thing that was brought up about Kenshin's great-great grandson, lol.

On another note, about 6 months to a year ago some guy with a mental problem ran into a post office in Germany with a sword and killed 5.

Just because stuff like this happens doesn't mean Pokemon is evil, guys! The problem here has more to do, I think, with bullying. This is no differant than an attempted school shooting.

Actually there are already sites that claim Pokemon is evil... almost thought this was some sort of joke at first....

I wouldn't be too hard on Vyse though... I understand what he's saying... people could have died.

And I've been called an assortment of things growing up, but the worst was that a whole class managed to convince the sub teacher that my name was Ernie.... there I was, sitting in the middle of an Elementary school class balling my eyes out trying to explain to the sub that "My name isn't Ernie." sniff... oh well.

The interesting thing is that this is not the norm (as apposed to the crazy stuff that goes on in US schools)... I wonder if he spent much time living here in the states.

Blah Pokemon

Postby Shinigami » Thu Mar 11, 2004 8:15 pm

You'd think they'd learn by now. It's not bad enough that those children who got hospitalized for seizures from this show, then now its used as a youth hazing deal? I agree kids will be kids and part of survival in reality is learning how to cope with people not liking you or your way of thinking. I mean, Jesus came into the world knowing why he was alive and what he'd have to do. He endured beyond anything we can know and he didn't go blasting the Pharisees into bitty pieces or anything, though he could have. I think a lesson in self-control should be learned.

On another note, cops (and I know a few) tend to laugh at things that are quite sobering, mainly cause if they stop for too long to think about one case or one murder or one crime too much, they'll dwell on it and eventually the severity of some of them might consume them and they wont be able to properly do their jobs.

What happened to Bushido? I'm sure those kids at school weren't armed. I figured his grandpa might've taught him some of the code, but I guess not. How old was this kid again? :o
