One of the best, I think, however, was one evening around one in the morning when my friend went into her room and found her room mate asleep in her bed, lying on her stomach with her fingers laced together and her hands on the back of her head. Now, my friend crept in VERY quietly, so as not to disturb her roommate, but, once she was in the room, her roommate popped straight up in bed, looked at my friend and said in this dry, monotone voice, "Come here. I want to tell you something so you won't be so down on yourself. Come here. I want to tell you something so you won't be so down on yourself. Come here. I want to tell you something so you won't be so down on yourself."
As one might imagine, my friend was out of there as fast as lightning. She looked like she had seen a ghost. Frankly, I think that would have been less frightening.

The quality of your dorm experience will vary greatly based on your choice and/or luck in the roommate assignment process. I was fortunate to have a randomly assigned roomate who was both Christian and relatively quiet, so my dorm experience was mostly positive.
The part that I hated most was the a capella groups that would come and sing at the time of night when decent people (like myself) were trying to get to sleep for early classes the next morning. That and people smoking/talking on the balcony, because open windows were a necessity due to the lack of air conditioning.
My strangest dorm experience was a kid who decided to play the violin in front of the dorm one evening. He only did it once, and I never saw him again.

Fantasy Dreamer wrote:Oh my. I couldn't imagine going into the same stall and using one toilet while someone else used the second. I wouldn't even do that with my closest of close friends. Thats hilarious though. It really makes you wonder about people sometimes.

Anyway, that flasher dude and the 'naked Ray' is terrible! I am SO glad I'm a girl and that the dorms aren't co-ed! If I were a guy I doubt I'd want to even stay on campus. I'd drive the 45+ minutes from home to here everyday of class. Ugh....

Also disturbing, but not quite up to that level, The Buddy Stall.
Picture a typical public restroom - a row of toilets with metal walls between and doors in the front.

In one of the restrooms in my brother's dorm, the wall between two of the toilets had been removed and one of the doors replaced with the wall:

The reported reason for this was for handicap requirements - regulations require a larger stall to accommodate wheelchairs. However, since both toilets were still there, that explanation doesn't quite hold up as well.

A few nights ago most of the people in my dorm (it's an all guy dorm in case you were wondering) had a giant nerf battle between the top floor and the bottom floor. After we were finished, we decided to go around our dorm as a group and knock on some doors. We would then stand there with all of our nerf guns pointed at the door so when they would open up they would see a large group of guys standing there like they were about to shoot them. The reactions we got were priceless.
