Has anyone ever noticed how "Amazing Grace" is in the background of Eureka 7's fourth OP? o_o I don't know what the song is actually called, but I thought that was pretty cool.... It's a shame Adult Swim doesn't play the whole OP, especially since the Amazing Grace part is most easily heard in the beginning of it--which they don't show.
Here's a link in case anyone's curious to hear it:

Heyyy, someone mentioned Superbook!  Nice. Were you referring to the Japanese or American songs? I'm only familiar with the American songs, but I'd like to hear how the Japanese ones sound...

Hey....
How 'bout the German OP for Naruto?

That rap has some pretty hilarious lyrics. Plus, the song itself just sounds...bizarre. O_o

(Listed in order from favorite to least favorite)

Openings

Fullmetal Alchemist
Rewrite
Melissa
UNDO
Ready, Steady, Go!
the opening from Conqueror of Shamballa

Haibane Renmei
Free Bird (Koh Otani is AWESOME!)

Wolf's Rain
Stray

Closings

Fullmetal Alchemist
Tobira no Mukou e
Kesenai Tsumi
(Motherland and I Will just don't cut it for me)
Lost Heaven (the closing from Conqueror of Shamballa)

Wolf's Rain
whatever the ending song's called...you know, with the wolf running and all...

I also like the FMA songs Toru Okawa (Mustang), Keiji Fujiwara (Hughes), Rie Kugimiya (Al), Romi Paku (Ed), and Vic Mignogna (English Ed) made on the side. Those are all cool too.
And I have a soft spot for that Pokemon rap thing they used to play back when there were only 150 Pokemon.... :red:

You're talking about that little rap that names off all the Pokemon? Yeah, that was PRETTY tight...not all that great after they passed the 2,000 mark!

Back on subject, I have to add all the opening themes of Eureka Seven to my list--especially the last opening theme "Sakura"...any anime song that combines "Amazing Grace" with a techno pop beat and Japanese vocals is automatically a hit in my book! It also makes GREAT driving tuneage!

I ADORE that song. It's especially great to have blaring out of my car on my way to work. XD

I also enjoy Dress by BUCK-TICK, Trinity Blood's opening theme. And even though I've just seen the first ep, I've fallen in love with Claymore's OP. (I don't even know what it's called. WOES.)

Raison D’être by Nightmare. They also did Alumina, Death Note's original ending theme, which I enjoy very much (too short, though).

Oooh, shiny! Thanks!

Oh, I almost forgot. Shinkirou by LOVEHOLIC, Black Blood Brothers' closing theme is GORGEOUS. As is Jyu Oh Sei's closing theme, Te wo Tsunaide by Younha.

I gotta for several of the usual suspects, too: "TANK!" and "Real Folk Blues" from Cowboy Bebop, "Ride On Shooting Star" from FLCL, "Ready Steady Go" from Fullmetal Alchemist, and so forth. The less seen inclusion on my list would include the "R.O.D Theme" (the OVA, not the series), "The IJIN-DEN Tensai no Hosoku" from Wandaba Style, and "White Hill - Maromi's Theme" from Paranoia Agent.

While I generally skip openers of most anime titles, I've found a certain number of those I like (Meaning I voluntarily watch them more than once):

-Baccano's Opening, as well as it's ending.
-Monster's Opener is also another favorite of mine. Spooky, mysterious, just plain awesome.
-Naruto's ending "Wind" is another classic. I fell in love with that song when I first heard it. Likewise, the third opener was also an instant favorite of mine.
-Black Lagoon's opener is just massively hardcore.
-Ergo Proxy's Opener is amazingly beautiful. I highly recommend watching this video.
-Mushishi's Opener is another beautiful one.
-Cowboy Bebop is another favorite. I think most people can agree with that.
-Excel Saga's opener can be rather amusing to watch.
-Full Moon's first opener was also really catchy as well as adorable.

Heh. Somebody went gravedigging and hit this thread, I see.

I think I've changed somewhat since the last time I posted to one of these favorite OP/ED threads.

OP:
Thanks to a recent rerelease, I've remembered one I had thoroughly forgotten before:
"Cat's Eye" (for the show of the same name)
And I've added three new ones:
"The Sore Feet Song" for "Mushishi"
"Mushi-Uta" (for the show of the same name)
"Idea" for "Noein"

My list still includes:
"Coppellia's Casket" for "Noir"
"Open Your Mind" for "Oh My Goddess"
"Battle Cry" for "Samurai Champloo"
"Sono Mama no Kimi de Ite" for "Patlabor"

Many others deserve inclusion.

Favorite EDs
Unlike the OPs, no new EDs have caught my attention. Top of the list remains the heartbreaker "Lullaby" for "Now and Then, Here and There"
With near ties for:
"Beautiful Emotions" for "Noir"
"Small Prayer" for "Fruits Basket"
And I continue to like:
"Yume no Naka e" for "Kare Kano"
"Ride On Shooting Star" for "FLCL"
"Hajire" for "Dai Guard"
"Midnight Blue" for "Patlabor"
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May He cause His face to shine upon you.
May He lift up His countenance and grant you peace.

Maokun: Ninjas or Pirates? (Vikings are not a valid answer, sorry)

EricTheFred: Vikings are always a valid answer.

I've watched a few more animes since I posted in here, and my fav list now includes:

Tsubasa Chronicle - Blaze (opening)

Samurai Champloo - Shiki no Uta (ending) (very wierd, but after a while it grew on me)

Samurai 7 - Unlimited (opening), Fuhen (ending)

And these don't really count, but I like the credits song from the anime movie Jin-Roh, and this one insert song from Samurai Champloo. I don't remember which episode, but it plays when
Mugen is drowning.
(Routine?) update. Decided to cut out the lyric-less songs, add a couple forgotten and from new shows. Also just skimming off the top, as an actual list of all the Anime OPs and EDs I like would be quite long.

Openings
 • Rewrite - Asian Kung-Fu Generation (FullMetal Alchemist)
 • Link - L'Arc~en~Ciel (FullMetal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shambala)
 • Sakura Kiss - Chieko Kawabe (Ouran High School Host Club)
 • Disillusion - Tainaka Sachi (Fate/Stay Night)
 • Voodoo Kingdom - SOUL'd OUT (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood)
Endings
 • To the Other Side of the Door - YeLLOW Generation (FullMetal Alchemist)
 • Shiki No Uta - Minmi (Samurai Champloo)
 • Alumina - Nightmare (Death Note)
 • Tsuki Akari - Rie Fu (Darker Than Black)
 • Calling - Kaori Oda (Baccano!)
