Is anyone seeing this movie? It looks pretty funny.

Heck no. Personally, I think it looks HORRIBLE... no offense to anyone that thinks otherwise, but my goodness it looks ridiculous...

I liked the first Inspector Gadget movie with Matthew Broderick.

I believe they attempted to make a sequel of that one....that shouldn't have existed.

I think this movie is a vile and disgusting excuse for entertainment. Like the greedy vampire it is, it sucks the life out of my childhood nostalgia and turns it into an appalling money-grubbing monster. I hope it utterly fails at the box office.

But that's just me. XD

I can assure you that's not true.

The way you put that was so poetic, BTW.

I think the worst part about it is that in the trailer, they stick the overly dramatic music when the logo appears, that should be resevered for a REAL super hero, or an actual a epic movie :/

And as for the first Inspector Gadget, I watched it when I was about 12 with friends who thought it was HILLARIOUS... I think I faked laughed the whole time since they thought it was so humorous :/

No seriously, I hate it when Hollywood sticks out movies it just shouldn't :/ Some cartoons just should NOT be movies. Although I haven't seen it, I heard Garfield was atrocious too.

Yeah, you're right.

Let me try to explain:
The first sentence was in response to what I quoted because I doubt that that's "just here."

Then I complemented how poetic the rest of Corrie's post was.

Then I gave examples of why I don't want to see the movie.

EDIT: You can only edit once?
I got Underdog mixed up with Huckleberry Hound color-wise by accident.
For some reason, I thought he was blue for a second.

Actually I've come to a conclusion: Cartoons don't make very good live actions (unless the cartoons were based on comics). Well, the odd time can work, like how the first Flinstones movie was pretty good^^ I think it's moreso if it involves personified animals that it wouldn't work out :/ Even then...

I personally don't want to see this movie about the same as I don't want to see the Alvin and the Chipmunks movie. This version of Underdog is such a deviant from the original storyline...I mean, humble and lovable Shoe-Shine Boy was a regular citizen in society who just happened to be a dog; he wasn't some boy's pet. And Polly Purebred was...a reporter? As far as I can remember, anyway. My mom used to watch this series, so when it was on Boomerang a while back she showed us a couple of episodes. It was okay, kind of like the Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoons (the movie wasn't too bad; at least they were kept as themselves) with all the extra cartoons and you had to wait soooo long to actually move the storyline along.

Anyways, that's my opinion. I do not want to see this movie like many of you because it ruins what the original cartoon was. And I'm even more afraid of the Chipmunks movie...if they even so much as THINK about remaking the original animated Chipmunk movie (the one with the Chipmunks and the Chippettes traveling the world in hot air balloons), "I will be very put out." (Princess Bride reference, for those who didn't catch that)

Alec-kun, we're not going to make fun of you or beat you to a pulp just because your mom wants to take you and your whole family. *helps Alec out from under chair* I've seen the SpongeBob movie (and boy did I regret it), and nobody's beaten me up about that. (But my main complaint in that movie is that King Neptune REALLY let himself go, and wasn't even voiced by John O' Hurley!! I didn't mind the daughter so much, but he lost his muscular build and was BALDING. Yeesh.)

Oh, believe me, Underdog was WAY better than Rocky and Bullwinkle. XD I never liked Rocky and Bullwinkle growing up, and when I went to see the movie as a kid, my family and I walked out because we all thought it was so stupid. XD

I fear because all of the Penguinmania going on the next cartoon to be made into a live action movie will be Tennessee Tuxedo!

The problem, for me,with Underdog is that only Wally Cox can really voice the character and he's been dead for years. That and how can you have the character without Shoeshine Boy?

Blossem-chan, I kinda, liked...the Spongebob Movie...

THE SONGS! IT WAS THE SONGS! Who couldn't resist the Now the we're men song and Goofy goober rock song?

And I liked the evil scuba diver. Otherwise I wasn't a big fan of the film.

And I will admit, I do make a major exception with the Dudley Do Right and George of the Jungle live action films. They stayed to the true nature of the films, and it was basically like a living cartoon. But it's only my opinion.

However, I will agree doing a live action film after an animation is as messy as a video game film. It can be done, but very special people and VERY special skills are needed to make it flow right and stay with the original work. Other wise it all falls apart.

Yeah, I remember watching those. Brendan Frasier did a good job in both movies, and I believe I enjoyed both. I thought it was funny in Dudley Do-Right when he went to see that guy for advise and the narrator said that the guy possessed...wisdom? I think..." and an extensive POKEMON collection."

Haven't seen George of the Jungle 2, mostly because of the lack of original actors. Same with Inspector Gadget 2. I enjoyed the first, don't want to see the second.

Yes, sadly, there is going to be a chipmunk movie. I think someone already started a thread for it, complete with poster.

Hm...who knows? I don't know if they ever specified in the cartoon what breed he was.

I think it does...for the most part. Underdog does talk in rhyme (at least most of the time), and they did make a reference to how in the old series he took a pill to get his powers.

However, they turned Riff Raff into a doberman, and that's just inexcusable.

Actually in the original Wally Cox series Underdog only took the pill when he needed to BOOST his powers.Whenever he was weakened or lost his powers he would tell Polly to pop open the ring on his finger
and give him the pill that was in the secret compartment.
