Girls - How long is your hair?

Talk about anything in here.

I got it cut today! Now it's just sort of floating around my shoulders. XD It's a little longer than the shoulders, but not too much. I feel a lot lighter, though. XD

Mine used to be so long I could set it across my lap, but when I joined the Navy it was cut just above my shoulders. I've grown it back to about waist length since then, and recently I decided to grow it out to about where it once was, just for kicks. Then I'll probably go back to waist length or maybe a wee bit shorter.

[quote="Doubleshadow"]The nice thing though is its wash and wear] You don't even comb it when it's wet? Wow.

I can sit on my hair. It's mostly straight. The thing is, if my hair were short, it would be curly; but, as it is, the weight pulls it down. However, if I don't brush my hair at all after washing it, it's pretty curly (but tangly, also).

Does anyone else with long hair frequently get asked if they're growing their hair out for Locks of Love? I've gotten tired of it and am starting to have a guilt trip. But, my hair grows slowly and I have spent about 10 years getting it the length it is now, which I like. I think I'll probably grow my hair out about six inches more and then donate.

Mine is a bit below my shoulders. Usually people like me don't even make it this long naturally since they'll usually end up putting relaxers and weave and end up wearing out their real hair. So a lot of people are jealous of me in my neighborhood.

However, I've always wanted to cut it and rock it short. But now everyone is doing it and I don't feel like being accused of copying Posh and Rhianna.

So I'll grow it some more. It'll it keep my neck warm if I go somewhere cold for college next year.

Plus, I wonder if I could actually go through with cutting it?

I've had kept hearing that i should donate to locks for love too. Though well meaning, its as though the only reason I should have long hair was to donate to charity.

It sounds like a good thing. But, after researching found out that they don't really do much with the hair donated. Its done more for publicity. The majority of hair donations are sitting in storage to never be used.

Don't take my word for it, do your own research.

Mine's nicely short n' choppy. If I grow it out passed a certain point, I get this really dumb natural flip and I hate it.

Hey, it looks cute with my new hat, so s'all good.

I was told the same thing about my hair being straightened by its weight. When I was little it was really really curly, but now it's mostly just wavy. Around 7th or 8th grade someone convinced me to cut it short. I always ended up trying to straighten it and such because it would flip out every time in about 12 different directions. I love long hair...

Everyone wants me to donate hair to Locks of Love. They always tell me how my hair will still be long and that it will grow out fast. I'd consider doing it, except for the fact that my hair DOESN'T grow as fast as they claim it does, and that by the time they cut off the dead ends plus the part for donation, my hair would be short according to my standards. I always wanted to have hair right around my hip, but I keep giving in to letting other people play with it...arg...

My hair's longer than it has been in years, and it's only like two inches past my shoulders. I'm thinking of getting it cut before school starts though.

I finger comb it, and you shouldn't use a brush on it when its wet, that's when its the most breakable.

And whether or not the hair straightens with weight depends on the hair. My hair is at least wavy even wet, and even the longest layers will curl into ringlets if they don't dry funny.

Well, I've heard that most of the hair donated from America is unusable because it isn't healthy enough due to poor diets and such.

Really? I did not know that, although it makes sense. I guess I lucked out; I usually don't brush it until it's dry just because that's easier.
